Stainless vs bronze vs Marelon, SS screws

ha ha ha...now there you go Fishtales stirring that pot ever so gently. :) This reminds me of a buddies Labrador, if anyone ever threw a stick or anything he would bring it back and pester you forever wanting the game to keep on. Incidentally, the buddy was not a hunter and I don't think the dog...

Thanks fellas, I think I do still have that computer up in the attic and I do have a bunch of old SD cards in a drawer. I'll do some investigation.

    Compromised photo

Back in the early 2000s, my wife and I used to take our boat up to Sekiu Washington to go salmon and halibut fishing. I had a favorite halibut spot that was about a 10 mile run and my wife didn't like it because it was 400 feet deep and commonly it was a bumpy ride back in the afternoon. She...

Nah, we gotta have the gory details. I know if I could ply him with Irish Whiskey, I could get the story out of him.

    Replacing 228 Porta potti

Yes, they had 3 different setups. A carry-out porta potti....then there is the. same pot, with a deck pump-out....Then there was one with the same pot but with both deck pump-out and macerator with a Y valve for overboard discharge.

    Replacing 228 Porta potti

The toilet model is Sealand Dometic 964. If you have the pump-out model it is 964MSD. It's the same toilet, it just has the fittings on the back. Those latches used to be available by themselves but now I find they are only available in a rebuild kit. The part number for that latch is 310067...

    Tilt/Trim quandary

Today I removed the relay and found that it has 6 screws holding the two halves together I was able to separate the two halves just enough to spray a few shots of WD40 in. I screwed it back together and it works perfectly. I probably hit the 'down' button 30 times and it never missed a lick...

    Tilt/Trim quandary

I wondered if you had gone fishing. I finally got time right at dark last night to verify that a little shock makes the contacts work, so I didn't investigate further. Today I'm going to check all the connections good for looseness and corrosion.

    Tilt/Trim quandary

Seasick, I finally got my brain alignment and did just what you suggest here. The tilt/trim worked flawlessly in both directions when hooked to a test battery. When testing the down direction that is giving trouble, I connected and disconnected 20 times and it never failed to activate. I then...

OK, thanks for that. I was thinking the motor grounded through the case. This will be easy then. Thanks

    Tilt/Trim quandary

Thanks for this clarification. I did what I thought you intended this morning. I removed both the blue and green from the relay, connected the ground of my test battery (12.6v) to the lug where the boat battery was connected till I removed it to get the air box off. When I touched the positive...

Thanks for the heads up. I will be sure to exercise caution and do my homework first.

    Tilt/Trim quandary

Ok Dennis, just to make sure I'm doing this right. I leave the green and blue wires connected to the relay. I push the button for down and when it clicks but does not move, I continue holding the down rocker and touch the green wire with the positive of my good separate battery that is grounded...

    Tilt/Trim quandary

Well, I got a chance to mess with this problem this morning. What I said earlier about there being no clicking sound when I push the down button was a lie. It was my bad hearing. When I got the cowl off, the air box/silencer off and the cover off of the relay then it was quite obvious that every...

    Lower unit stuck

Is there any way to get an air chisel with a hammer head on it and be able to introduce some vibration into the shaft, even if it is from the side?

Dennis, do you have any movement yet?

    Tilt/Trim quandary

Thanks guys. You have given me lots of things to check and I am eager to get out there and mess with it........however, I have run into a bit of a snag. I was headed out to get after it and the Admiral caught me and said , "no playing with the boat till you finish the tile in the...

    Tilt/Trim quandary

When it doesn't move, there is no sound. it's just as if there are no wires connected to the switch. Dead silence. Both locations.
