Are the 330 (or other express) overhead cabin rod holders practical/useful?

Yeah, I would imagine being a go-for-it fisherman, your "berth" or "storage rack" gives you ample room to store everything imaginable for a fishing trip offshore, unlike a CC or Freedom. Interesting..Our Marlin just has the one sink. Good luck with your new Zuke's! let us know how they perform.

Are the 330 (or other express) overhead cabin rod holders practical/useful?

My comment adds nothing to this except to cyber-smile over how different all of us are. I toured the Grady Plant when my 2018 Marlin was being built and after scooting into the mid berth, I insisted that the rod racks be removed and the screw holes plugged. (I requested no rod racks in the...

    Gulfstream swim platform access

I relied on Dennis's sit-&-spin maneuver for the 10 years I owned mine. We anchored a lot and accessing the cockpit or the swim platform was never a big deal for me. I enjoyed the whole ownership experience enough that I didn't care about not having a transom door.

    Seafarer 22 purchase

Hi Biggun: To comment on a Seafarer's handling of rough seas: I had a Seafarer on Lakes Michigan & Erie for years back in the 90's. The boat was a '94 so it had the SeaV2 hull and a 250 Two Stroke "Saltwater Series" Yam. Obviously everyone's perspective and level of abuse they'll take is...

    Fresh Water Engine Flush

Another perspective: By the time the owner rigs up the auxiliary equipment, 12V pump, bucket/bag of water, etc and goes thru the steps to flush the engine after every trip he might: 1.) Take less trips because of the hassle factor: 2.) Say "Screw This" and avail himself of Option Zero. 3.) As...

    Fresh Water Engine Flush

I agree with Seasick: Not being able to flush or rinse the salt off the boat will cause it to deteriorate prematurely. Is moving to a nearby marina an option?

    Trailering with Eisenglass Up??

I wouldn't do it, but if I had to, it would be at speeds no faster than 55. To me, it's better to take longer to reach the destination than to risk blowing out the eisenglass, but I don't drive fast anyway. I'm hip to how hard it is to struggle with it, especially in cold temps, but I still...

NOT for sale, just for info!

Congrats Captain; You've got a neat stable of memories there; I'll wager that 9.9 starts on the first or second pull.. 1974 huh? '72 here. I'd love to fill our Marlin up with '74 gas prices right before the Arab Oil Embargo when Nixon was in office. I'll jump off the Nostalgia Bandwagon here...

NOT for sale, just for info!

Aye YiYi; Same concept. If we had only stuffed them in the corner of a barn somewhere and brought them back out today. You could've gotten 70-80K for that SS. Who would've ever thought?

    Correction..It IS a 1976 Johnson..Sorry.

NOT for sale, just for info!

Captain K: Your Johnson OB is a 1974. The boat may be a '76, I don't know. Looks neat. There is emotional value in something that makes you feel like you just graduated hi-school in 1972. As far as monetary value, if it was only that 1970 "Cuda with a 440-SixPak that you used to own and sold...

    Questions Please

Hey PigHunter: Your welcome, happy to chime in. I no longer own the boat or trailer, but I'm pretty sure the trailer was 8' 9" wide. The Gulfstream is 9' 3" amidships and is slightly wider than the trailer frame, tapering to around 8' 10" at the stern. The trailer weighed 1900 lbs and was...

    Questions Please

I owned a 232 Gulfstream for 10 years; My answers to your queries: 1.)Yes, the 9' 3" beam requires a permit to tow it legally. Many don't get them; it's your call, although if you stack it up, your insurance may not be valid if you are towing illegally. Weight of a 232 with twins will be in the...

    Eventful Day

If this wasn't a boating forum, I'd compare notes with you on that subject. We could likely buy our next Grady's if we tallied up the tunes over X-number of years and X-number of bars...

    Eventful Day

CCR was a special combo of dudes; They were masterful songwriters; created great tunes and they instinctively knew what to leave out when they performed them. (That quality is less common than you may realize.) They crafted hit after hit and every song has stood the test of time. It's a shame...

    Generator ?

Very true, and the price is, well, significant. That said, we want to anchor more often, so hopefully it becomes worth it.

    Generator ?

And do you know how hard that is aboard Grady's? When I try to get mine up to a consistent 16 Amps or so I run into brick walls. 1.) The A/C? Sure, that's 7.5 Amps or so but it kicks off when cabin temp is reached unless you cycle it down to an unrealistic set point where it constantly runs and...

    Generator ?

If an over-the-hill drummer may express an opinion better suited to a tech, my guess is that many of the Fisher-Panda related problems are related to long periods of inactivity. My FP tech says that at least here in Florida they thrive on use. He tells me most of his service calls are related...

    Stringer seperation in 2004 Marlin

Yeah, a couple decent shots. I'll get them on here when my sig other is home to help. I'm challenged with computer-oriented stuff.
