Good! Now that you received good news about your cracked areas, I want to take a second and thank you for your trailering input concerning overwide permits & routing. I trailered our Marlin to Michigan this summer and because of input from you and Dennis, the trip worked out well.
Sorry about...
Remember when we had this convo after you got to Carrabelle? I told you my 2007 F200's did the same thing, just like the replies above. My tech said it was no prob; bells will go off if it really overheats as Doc stated. When I would come off plane an idle for a couple minutes, the indicator...
Same with my old Gulfstream with twin 200's. The scuppers were partially submerged and it never mattered in my 10 years of ownership. The deck would always drain fine.
Agree with Fishtales, get the hoses checked and make sure they're safe.
X2 on the Endurance so far.
Ky Grady is correct about the demise of the Marathon brand. Once a rock solid tire you could depend on it was cheapened considerably after manufacturing in the US was discontinued.
Parthery warned me about the new Marathons being sub-par, but I thought, well, I...
I have 2018 350's and wouldn't have any other motor. They are flat-out fabulous. I can't speak for the reliability of 2010 year engines, however. Before you turn down the boat, I would talk to a qualified Yamaha Tech and get an opinion from an expert who works on them.
MY 2018's need a flywheel...
Nothing else to say that hasn't been said except for a trailering comment..I have towed both a Seafarer and my current Marlin, which is close in mass & heft to a 282, albeit a bit bigger.
You may tire of towing a 282 even though your set up to do it. I towed my Marlin 1200+ to Michigan this...
I had a Seafarer for many years. You will be fine if your negotiating groundswell spawned from a distant storm that has wide intervals.
Any surface wind chop over 2 feet and it'll be a rough and/or wet ride.
I don't consider a 22 ft Grady an offshore boat in general, but you can pick your days.
More is always better; You won't worry about it being sluggish if your loaded with people or stuff.
Throttle back, the engine works less and you'll get comparable fuel mileage to a smaller engine.
If I was to purchase a 208 (an Adventure, right?) I wouldn't want anything less than a 200. A...
A tech told me a few years ago Salt Away is effective if you use it from the time the engine is new, but not otherwise.
He said flushing on a regular basis is the best way to stay ahead of problems.
Like Dennis and Mr crab mentioned, it's probably not tight enough to the bow stop and there's a bit of elasticity in the strap.
Crank it really tight to the bow stop, tighter than you would think it needs to be and that should keep it there.
I did a whole write-up on towing my Marlin awhile...
No need for documentation; I believe you. Besides, you needed something positive to go along with boating in debris-strewn silt-laden waters in 30-degree temps. I loved those pics..I'll bet that would be a really neat run when the river is in normal pool with reasonable temps.
I was always was...
Nice storage facility; It's good to have it put away and done with..Bad to look at the beginning of another winter, I would guess.
I recall you had a good Fla trip this summer. I think we were in Michigan during that time.
Yeah, this is great.
You have, as I suspected, the same gauges I had on my F200's. When my engine temp situation started like I outlined above, that top arrow would move to the right one notch and stay there, like yours does at 4000RPM..
