Sold my 226 in July of 2020 and have regretted it ever day since considering the prices or new and used boats. The 228 is a fine boat and is able IMOP more than I was willing to handle.

The boat brand new cost 160-165k in 18 according to the sales guy. It does have several Options like a porcelain toilet, power companion seat, Front side and back curtains and others.

This boat is in Jacksonville FL.

Thanks all I appreciate the feedback. The marina is having it detailed in a week or so. Once they do that I am going to look at it again. I’ll determine what to do after that.

The boat is not on boat trader yet and it is not yet for sale. The marina is doing the 100 hours service and cleaning it up. But the one on BT looks nicer than the one I was looking at.

Hello, Haven’t been here much as I sold my Grady a year and a half ago. I found a 2018 Freedom 235 with 90 hours on the engine. Would you get a survey done on it. The boat is being sold by the marina who sold, serviced and stored it. Thanks.

When I had my 226 I had it in a slip for six months of the year. I though about trailering it to and from the ramp but it is so much easier to go to the marina get on your boat, start the engines and go. If I ever get another boat it will be in a slip.

Well all the extra money I had for a boat just went into a condo in Connecticut so our daughter has a nice place to live with her dog while at grad school. It was to good to be true anyway, so now back to just playing golf.

It is all about what the wife wants. She hated the 226 because of the seating and the lack of space up front. I would have kept my 226 if she liked going on it but she didn't. Also, most of the cost is options that my wife would like, for instance the electric flush toilet instead of a porta...

Looking at getting a brand new 235 and would really like to know where to get a list of options and what they cost. Was quoted 167,000 for a new boat. Seems high but I guess with this crazy world not really. I chose lots of comfort options for my wife like the companion seat that is electronic...

Get it done mine looked like yours and if I had waited it would have been a power head not just the exhaust. It stinks that Yamaha didn’t admit fault and screwed a lot of owners.

Man do I wish I still had the 226 right now. With the cost of boats and the lack of inventory I could still have a boat. Unless things get less crazy I don't see myself in a boat anytime soon unless it is a really old boat 2010 or older. I have called two or three Sea Hunt and Sportsman dealers...

We may never know the decision to get rid of the 226/228 but perhaps it is the fact that 30k less is more attractive and the 208 is a lot more towable for beginners.
