Think you may have other issues FirstTimeGrady. That's original wiring in your pic. Pink is the sending wire, black is ground. Mine is wired the same, pink to gauge, black to ground. ABYC marine wiring code has pink to sender to gauge. It's industry standard.

A&J in Vanceboro NC is the correct one. I had a choice of the navy or the white and just stayed with navy. Since Lee does the factory enclosure for Grady-White, not sure she will stock black. You can always check with her. My 228 enclosure in navy.

I went to the Mantus M1 17#. The Fortress FX-11 wasn't heavy enough to self deploy. Seems to set every time and not move. Had it set down in the Keys back in May on a tide change by 7 Mile Bridge and it never moved.

That's on Rod Findlay's 228 over in AU. I'd guess Short Marine either did it or had it made.

Agreed,,, that's not a 2004 boat. Late '04, early '05 motor, as the hood changed between the years I think.
