    Marlin On Trailer:

Thanks Dennis: I just went out and examined the transom lifting rings and their location relative to the tabs. It looks like, as you mentioned, I may be able to get stern straps on and run them forward to the "U" Bolt on the frame. I think they'll miss the tabs and I can put towels or something...

    Marlin On Trailer:

Buffalo: Once the wx turns for the summer,(depending where you are) you'll have many memorable moments aboard your Marlin. As you've probably discovered, they're great rigs. Fuel Numbers/350's. (Drop .1 or .2 off the MPG's in slop or significant surface chop.) 3500-3700RPM. 31-33MPH. 1.4MPG in...

    Marlin On Trailer:

Hey Buffalo: Thanks for the compliments; it sure looks bigger on the trailer than in the Gulf... RE: Curtains; I'm not sure what you mean by "Outside The Help" or "Inside The Help." I roll the side curtains up from under the hardtop as opposed to standing on the walkaround outside. I gently...

    Marlin On Trailer:

Thanks KY Grady: I was just about to reply to Dennis describing the motor supports and you did a much better job with a pic to boot! I originally used the M-y Wedge's on my F200's in 2007. (I first learned about them on this site, actually.) When we ordered new ones for my 350's on the...

    Marlin On Trailer:

Special thanks to Dennis & Island Pilot for their advice and help. Specs below: Height 13' 5" with Garmin Dome removed. Weight (A guess; this was just a fitting and we have yet to scale it.) 15,300 LBS or in that ballpark. Length/Boat & Trailer: 44 feet with OB's tilted to trailering angle...

    Lift options and opinions

I have a Marlin and although I haven't weighed it, I'm pretty sure it comes in over 12K. I was advised to get a 16K lift so as not to be on the edge of capacity and I'm glad I did.

    I don't understand

So we've moved beyond bass boats? Okay, "I don't get" Grady Freedoms. I would never pay six figures for a bowrider without a cabin. "I DO Get" why Grady has moved in that direction. It's where the money is; their customer base favors them. If I sat in the Front Office, I would turn them out...

    I don't understand

Smoke: It's kind of a "cult" thing. A well-equipped bass rig is perfectly adaptable to it's primary function; inshore fishing. We do not need to discuss what it is and what it is not. If you keep it on inland lakes or sheltered coastal waters, keep it to 2 passengers max and make sure the...

How far apart are your boat lift bunks? 222 Fisherman specifically

I've had lifts for two Gradys. Both times, I've put the lift company together with Grady-White and my selling dealer so they can accurately determine where the bunks should be placed to support the boat correctly.

    305 express or 300 marlin

As I mentioned in my comment above, I think they are, but am not 100% sure.I can tell you they ride almost the same.

    305 express or 300 marlin

I own a Marlin and have been on a 305 that good friends owned a few years ago. I don't like the Express; I want the safety of the walkaround , I much prefer the stb helm on the Marlin as opposed to the center helm on the Express and I'm not worried about any extra cabin space. I think they're...

    Vhf lesson

One more thing; when you hail another party on #16 with the intention of non-emergency ship-to-ship conversation, make your connection, pick a channel and switch to it. Keep any exchange on #16 to a bare minimum. All too often I hear back-and-forth on 16 before one of the parties realizes they...

    The weekend finally came!!!

From the look of the docks and the color of the offshore water in your shot astern, I'm guessing Lake Erie East of the Islands. If that's correct, I'm assuming the South Shore logo on the drivers door of the transport vehicle is the Grady dealership there in Huron. In any case, enjoy your season!

    Yamaha F350 Flushing

I have to flush one at a time; I don't have enough water pressure to do otherwise. If I hooked up another hose on the same dock and hooked it to the stbd engine, neither engine would pee as the 2nd hose would bring down the overall pressure. I would assume Blackbird flushes one at a time also...

    Yamaha F350 Flushing

I have exactly the same issue; even down to the port engine stream being weaker. Everything Blackbird wrote is happening to me. Mine are 2018's. Unfortunately, I have no answer...

    Gulfstream Trailering

Looks like your heading down with a good mindset; again, there are Gulfstreams worthy of consideration. Good luck in your search and at least you'll have temps in a reasonable register. I have a friend in Sheboygan WI that told me it was reading 6 degrees on his SUV this morning. I have...

    Gulfstream Trailering

Yooper: Yooper: I have lived in Fla for the last seven years and most used boats, Grady's included, are victims of the tropical, humid environment that exists here. Add lack of maintenance, neglect and the long-term effects of saltwater on the boat & engines and you have the potential for a...

    Gulfstream Trailering

Hi Yooper350: I trailered a Gulfstream for 11 years. It's not that big a deal to tow as the others have said. Fully loaded she was 10,100 lbs loaded with ice, Mt Dews, and too much gear. This figure includes the trailer weight. Height was 12' 6" with my hardtop, although there was no radar...
