If you can see daylight between the spring leaves, they are on their way out. The rust gets in there and separates the spring leaves and creates a pendulum effect that tends to promote snapping of the spring. If I can see light through the spring I replace the spring

I believe those are made by water bonnett. I have the same ones on my 88 offshore. Check this guy. He carries some obsolete water bonnett parts. 813-926-3717

All wawa stations have non ethanol gas for around 2.45 a gal. It is 89 octane. My F250 runs great with wawa gas.

I seriously doubt any rubber made it to the power head. When impeller melts, becomes a gooey mush n sticks to the housing port and does not make it up the tube. Maybe use a wire brush on a stick to wipe out the inside of the copper water tube near the pump. Also blow a good amount of compressed...
