    208 Adventure Cabin Light

SmokyMtnGrady thanks for your response. Given how tight it seems to be locked in with the screws removed, I guess it could be twisted into a backing or glued to the roof liner. I hope it is a twist fit. I will try twisting it. LouisR

Remove cabin dome light, 282 Sailfish

Thanks RPC for your feedback. That's exactly what I am afraid of. If it is glued to the roof liner (which is otherwise in as-new condition), the liner will be ruined if i try to apply more force. Let's see if I get anything else that's helpful. From there I will need to innovate! LouisR

Remove cabin dome light, 282 Sailfish

Hi All, I am after some help removing the Perko dome light in the cabin of my 2002 282 Sailfish. The light was working intermittently, but now not at all, and I think it is the press button switch or a loose connection. I have removed the clear lens cover and unscrewed the two base plate...

    208 Adventure Cabin Light

Did you ever get this dome light off? I am having a similar problem with my 282 I believe. I can remove glass/plastic cover but can't remove the metal base that hides the switch and wiring. LouisR

How do I stop helm seats squeaking?

I have a 2002 Sailfish 282, beaut boat. The standard pedestal seats make a lot of noise. Noise comes from where the rotating seat base fits onto the vertical pedestal.I have cleaned the fitting, I don't want to lubricate them as they have friction locking mechanisms. What can I do to stop the...

    What prop for 282 Sailfish

OK, thanks guys. My props are in fine condition, yes polished stainless 3 blade and 15.25inch diameter. It runs well. I think we usually run at about 3700RPM and 25mph to get 15gph....or there-abouts...again depending on conditions, but that is on a nice calm-sea plane. Which does not sound bad...

    What prop for 282 Sailfish

I have a 2002 282 Sailfish with two Yamaha 200hp HPDI engines, I am running 17M size props, that are not stamped with any brand and may not be OEM. My mechanic said I should be getting another 300RPM at WOT and my hull is clean. I may be over- propped. I run the boat at sea with 5 people and...

    Cut thru hull for transducer

Ok, this is all great information for me and sets my mind at ease. I do intend getting the work done by a shipwright. I was under the impression the bottom of the hull had a balsa-core but if not, then that's even simpler. I will contact GW and confirm. Thanks again for the advice guys.

    Cut thru hull for transducer

We have a 2001 Sailfish 282, we often fish deep at 300 meters for Tuna, the transom mounted transducer is not up to it and Furuno have recommended a 2kW transduce unit and a 600W widebeam transducer linked to a FCV295 fish finder. But cutting two holes thru my hull worries me, especially...
