    Coffee Maker for a boat

Gotta remember that one, never heard of it before. On a side note, I went to school at UMO in Bangor, and spent summers painting houses in Portland. After college I headed to the west coast, the winters were to damn long cold for me.

1987 228 Seafarer Aluminum tank and Fuel lines replacement

Wow, that's a great price! Got a quote from another vendor for $1,145+ shipping earlier today, but yours is a huge savings, and since I have an old hull, I have to be judicious on what I sink $$$ into. I'll contact him tomorrow. I'm sure I will be asking you a question or two when I get to the...

    Bought a 1987 226 Seafarer!

Nice work SirGrady! I saw you replaced gas tank, I'm in the beginning stages of yanking mine out. I think all your hoses to it are new-at least they look like it in the pictures. My question is can I handle replacing the fill and vent lines by myself? I have a 1987 228, so the placement of the...

1987 228 Seafarer Aluminum tank and Fuel lines replacement

Yes its the original. I think that is the best decision too. I never saw or smelled gas in the bilge so I have been keeping my fingers crossed. Now seems like a good time to bite the bullet. Thanks for your thoughts.

    Unplanned repair!

You would think the universe would give you a break after completing a major project.....seems boats are the exception. I just replaced both my seals on the seastar steering cylinder of my 228 a few months back. They were both leaking oil, and same as you, steering was sloppy because air was...

    Re-powered my GW226 with a Honda BF250

Nice, I love to fish Donner, kept my boat in Truckee during spring/summer. I have the cannon tournament downriggers that have a dedicated transducer so I can keep 3' off bottom and it automatically raises and lowers downriggers. Used to get 5 macs there pretty fast right on the bottom. Pyramid...

Seafarer 226 with Yamaha 200 HPDI

I worked with Ken @ Prop Gods too! My 228 was from the East Coast and I live at 5400' in Reno. He sent me a few different props by mail to test out. Now boat comes up to plane quickly and I get a WOT of 5500. Not too bad for this elevation~

I still have stomach bruises from 4 years ago when I raised my scuppers 3" to accommodate a 4 stroke engine plus a kicker. Remember to breath! Good luck, Lee

    Re-powered my GW226 with a Honda BF250

Really sweet motor! Mine is a 2002 200hp, and the thing starts up and runs like new still with 480 hours. Just keep changing your fluids and you'll likely never have anything to worry about after the warranty expires. PS-Did you used to fish near Reno? Lee

1987 228 Seafarer Aluminum tank and Fuel lines replacement

Hi all, I have an '87 228 Seafarer that I bought used 4 years ago. Competed some major overdue maintenance items, and latest issue to come up is fuel sender (original) has been erratic and now doesn't work so I went ahead and ordered a wema. Because of the hull age, I believe the stainless...
