Been drifting for 30+ years. Been doing it this way the whole time. We travel with the wind and have a 5 rod spread out the back with lines out behind us.

I drift from the rear and pull two socks, the biggest I pull is 72". I hook to the transom tie-down eyes. This was when I was making a bridle to pull one on center when the wind dictates only one sock.

258 was on my short list but it wasn't driftsock friendly like my 228 is. Fished 4 guys before and plenty of room for everyone. 3 is ideal, 2 is excellent. 208 would have been too small for me and with the bracket, the 228 runs like a bigger boat.

I have a dedicated wreck anchor that I hand deploy. I'll have to check weight when I get home tonight. Used on same boat as you. I used chain on mine, but it's rigged on bottom eye with a zip-tie release on top eye.

No. Don't really have anyone around me I trust to do it right. Lee and gang did my full enclosure and new storage bag in hardtop for me when I got my boat. We stay in touch, she knows I'm sending them to her this winter. She's fair on her prices, so wasn't worried about a quote from her.

Sending my coaming pads to A&J during the off season this winter. Since they are Grady-White's OEM for enclosure they should have the correct vinyl to match.

Cabin works well, when your buddy has too many Margaritas before noon and needs to lay down!! :cool:

No problem. After looking at your pics again, I see the hardtop is bigger than mine, making you have more room, probably is the standard size base.

I have to agree with others. Unless you personally know the boat, your investment in the investigation of this boat is on you. Unless you had a refundable deposit on this boat pending a satisfactory sea trial and/or survey, that's the only money you will recover. Anything you paid out of pocket...

On my boat, I've been in both the bilge and the coffin box for the fuel tank, and pretty sure I was first person in there from the looks of my tank. I had no plugs between the two areas in my 2004 Seafarer. I prefer it that way. I had a fuel leak and no I didn't blow up. I would rather...
