Oil Level Indictor Is it Working??

The oil alarm is in the oil tank on the side of your engine. It has a float valve in it, if your remote tank pump fails eventually and shortly your tank on the side of the engine will deplete oil and when the level gets on the low side the oil warning horn sounds. You can get home safely by...

Can Gelcoat Stay Shiny Year-Round In Fla?

Before I got the Marlin I had a Sailfish for 8 years. It looked almost new when I swapped up. Before the Sailfish I had a Seafarer for 8 years, kept it like new also. I guess I am also very picky about maintenance and keeping my boat washed and waxed.

Can Gelcoat Stay Shiny Year-Round In Fla?

I have my 2007 Marlin 300 in Panama City Beach Fl on a lift. Wax the boat twice a year to keep it shiny, usually Feb and Aug. Last Feb I got lazy and had it done, too expensive.

    Suggestions: center rigger on Sailfish?

I put one on my Marlin 300. I bought the mount and pole and installed it myself. I will look for a picture to email you. I know I took some.

    Marlin trim tabs and zinc

I think it would depend on whether or not you leave the boat in the water.

    Batteries on a 2006 marlin 250 hp

I have a 2007 Marlin and my batteries are on the edge of needing replacing. I would load test them all. Also check for corrosion on the terminals, and clean up battery selector switch connections.

'98 Sailfish Something running after shutdown

Is it your automatic trim motors running to bring up the trim tabs? That is what I hear after shutting of my engines.

    Thermostats

Even though I flush my engines with salt away after each trip I still replace thermostats at 200 hours. I run well offshore and don't want any issues.

Buying 1995 272 Sailfish - Any Advice? & Wish Me Luck

I had one for 8 years before moving up to the Marlin. The only issue I had with my Sailfish was the oil reservoir pump brackets caused the reservoir motors to fail from electrollis (sp). I would highly recommend you have those checked, to get at them you have to take out the livewell tank...

    Bolster repair

Anyone have a tip for repairing small rips in the bolster material? Last Sunday on a fishing trip one of my "good" fishing friends got two hooks stuck in the material and ripped it getting the hook out. Thanks,

    Auto Pilot

As a follow up we used it for 24 hours straight on the tournament trip. Well worth the investment, ran almost 300 miles including trolling. Worked great, I love it. Oh we did not catch any good fish, just big bonita. But we had fun.

    Auto Pilot

Thanks for the feedback guys. I had the boat out yesterday again for a raft up, played with the auto pilot some more. I am looking forward to the offshore runs (and the fuel savings). My friend David and I and our sons are fishing the Bay Point 40/40 shootout next month, we are all pumped over...

    Outriggers...Which ones to buy?

I have Lee 24' and love them, mine are side mount as you can see. I modified them to swing down (front go up to get pinned to the hard top) so I can get under a bridge I have to pass under to get out of our canal. My recommendation is to get the longer ones.

    Auto Pilot

I had a Garmin GHP 10 Auto Pilot installed in my 2008 Marlin last week. Not sure how I have survived without one up to now. It is awesome.
