Another vote for a 228! Love being able to get out of the wind. But like seasick said I recommend wearing a PFD when trying to get to the bow and I have a hardtop.

I can't answer your specific questions but I just started ripping out my fuse block in my 1999 hard top 228. Much different then yours, Looks like some jumped it a second fuse block on the other side of the box. I'm ripping it all out and going with one with 12 stations. I'm installing the same...

Upper box, helm stays open. I'm just going to use a Velcro strap.

I laid a towel on my deck. I hate stepping in there in mornings when deck is wet, it leaves dirty foot prints that end up drying there.

The electronics door on my 228 hard top does not stay open when moving. Do I need new hinges are do they not stay open when the boat is moving?

Fabulous I'm so happy with this boat! Although I'm still trying get the oil adjusted correctly with the 2 stroke oil. Since Monday I made 3 fishing trips for a total of 145 miles I used 3 gallons of oil. That's about one gallon every 48 miles. Seems like too much to me?
