330 Express w/ F300s (cruise speed, fuel burn)

Thanks. Just asked you something on different thred. I am getting the same feeling about upgrading. It would be hard to justify based on little improvement. At some point, I will probably move up to 36 but I'm hoping the will come out with more efficient engines.

    330 express vs 360 express

Thanks for this. What are your fuel numbers at cruise speed?

330 Express w/ F300s (cruise speed, fuel burn)

Thanks! What engines did you have before (225 or 250s) and did you notice a big improvement? What prompted the repower?

330 Express w/ F300s (cruise speed, fuel burn)

If you have a 330 with F300s, what is your average cruise speed (RPM) and fuel burn. As my previous post, I'm looking at replacing my F250s with 300s and I'm curious what the real-world performance numbers are. We fish offshore and usually have full tanks (fuel, water, diesel) and 3-5 big guys...

    Repower 330 with 300's or 350's

That was my thinking. The engines right now seem to want to cruise at 4800 RPM range. 300's would get those down to 4200-4300 I'm guessing.

    Repower 330 with 300's or 350's

Brian - I know what you are saying. We are looking to reduce the cruising RPMs and save some fuel. I'm just weighing the pros and cons of moving to 300's. If anyone has upgraded their 330 from 250s to 300, let me know your thoughts.

    Retrofit Chiller Plates Project

My 2006 330 has freezer plates in the fish box. We love them. The compressed is mounted behind the generator but higher up. There is a pump (I think one for livewell) in stern that circulates the water. Intake is behind the generator intake.

    Repower 330 with 300's or 350's

Have a 2006 330 and considering repowering. Our F250's are fine (700 hours) but was thinking we'd repower before we got over 1,000 hours. Also looking for better economy scale. Right now we get 27-30 MPH at 4800 rpm cruise burning about 27-28 GPH. I think the 300s would lower that to 4200...

    Experience with Express 330

I sold my 2000 Sailfish 3 years ago and purchased a 2006 330 with F250 yams that has all options including bow thruster, diesel gen and freezer fish box. The only thing we don't have that would have been nice is helm air but that wasn't and option at the time. Yesterday we fished flat sea...

    Realistic 272 Sailfish Review

I sold a 272 2000 sailfish a few years ago. Feel free to pm me if you want and I can give you a cell to discuss pros and cons.

    Realistic 272 Sailfish Review

I bought a sailfish new in 2000. Had it till I sold it in 2012 to move up to 330 express. Loved my sailfish. Took me offshore (up to 80 miles) hundreds of times and always got me home safely - even In rough weather. The battery area is tight and there are some other finishing issues but it...

Torque Tab on lower unit GONE!

I seriously doubt someone would jump in the water to remove a engine anode. Sort of hard to get to in my opinion. Now on land that might be a different story but i'm telling you I had at least 2 fall off last year - both times on the same engine. Wouldn't they steal both? Something with...

330 Express OK on metal boat stand?

My boat yard had to move my 330 and it is now sitting on a boat stand. Is this OK. The photo with the green lights is how it looks now and the previous photo is how it was during the winter with full keel support. Wondering if these metal boat stands can cause problems for such a heavy boat?

    330 Express opinions

Slimjim7 - I did a quick calculation and I believe over the past 15 years, we have gotten our tuna down to $1,720/lb. not bad for really fresh sushi!

    330 Express opinions

Had a 2000 272 sailfish and moved 2 years ago to a 2006 330. Loved the sailfish but the 330 offers a larger boat ride and longer range plus generator, air and creature comforts for overnight trips. Ours has 250s and good enough but I'm sure 300s will be better. Not sure but if you buy a older...

Not happy with my shrink wrap job

I used to have a sailfish and now a 330. Your person should have done it this way (photo). My guy used these plastic straps (not sure what they are called) from the hardtop to stern and in the bow to support shrinkwrap. Works great. It it like the plastic bands around shipping boxes. BTW...

    Maserator Pump

Yep. You are missing a blade that slices up the (you know what). Check out this diagram -- http://www.groco.net/SVC-MAN-07/Sec1/pdfs/155.pdf. I ended up replacing the pump on my 2000 sailfish after 8-9 years of screwing around with it. Pump would lock up or freeze and you could take it apart...

    What fenders do you use?

I like a red anchor ball for stern and 2-3 Taylor boat fenders along side. This picture shows that. The large red ball can handle the weight of stern well.
