What do you tow your boat with?

I would replace the drums with disc brakes. I did it with my last pacific trailer, not a hard job. Easy to order all the parts and not a hard job. I think I just payed around $400 for a new surge but if you need it you need it.

    Compass oil

So I found a full bottle of Ritchie fluid that the previous owner must have bought and never used. I filled the compass and turned upright, within 5 minutes there were two wet spots. So I called RITCHIE and I can replace it for $225 or send it to them and for $117 they will rebuild, I just got...

    Put down a deposit

I'm glad you found out before you bought it. Can you elaborate on what was found in the survey? I guess you didn't have an understanding with the seller that if it doesn't pass you get your deposit back?

226/228 owners - do you pull the plug?

Nope flappers are not missing. From what I read this normal I only noticed it if someone was standing in the corner the water drains right back out when you move.

Recent 228 and pressure washer OK?

Mine was stains from the previous owner (looked like blood that never got cleaned??)so I'm not sure but I tried a good industrial fiberglass cleaner with a heavy brush and it wouldn't touch them. So I put the power washer right on them and they were gone.

I used a pressure washer on mine, especially the deck had some stains it cleared them right off with no damage to the glass.

    Water picture

I saw that movie the first time when I was 9 years old, the next year we moved to this area. I remember as a little kid my dad stopping at the school in Bodega where the kids ran down the hill. Some movies will never be forgotten.

226/228 owners - do you pull the plug?

I've always pulled plug on all my boats and have always had water come out. My 228 on the other hand has never had anything drain out. the other day I was in the pacific for 6 hours not one drop came out after pulling the plug, not bad for a 21 year old boat.

    OX66 225 tilt

Well I ran out of Bodega Bay Ca. today for a salmon try and the tilt worked fine?? It functioned the way it should and it never went down when I powered up although I think the tilt shaft is leaking a little more. I'll probably tear it off this winter and send to the Company seasick posted.
