    24 Offshore Express repower

I agree with Dennis.......I had a 250 Yammi on a 1985 Offshore and it would do 40mph....I rarely ever ran it WOT but it would do it. Now I have a 225 E Tec on a 1982 version and it does 37-38 mph. Some people would say it is underpowered but I never felt that way...even with a crew on board...

    Water in Fuel

I didn't read all posts but are you getting your fuel at the same place all the time? Maybe it is their problem and not yours.

    Side vent window latch

Cap is a press on fit....I have not had the window fly open. My boat is an '82.....it had 40 years of UV working on it...AND.....I think I broke it myself by using it incorrectly in the firsyt place. Just FYI......the screw pattern on the base was not the same as on my Offshore....I could only...

    Side vent window latch

For me it was the inside handle....the plastic got brittle and broke when I torqued it.

    cleaning boat

As Dbiscayne said there is a tube connecting the front bilge with the rear but if your Gulfstream is anything like my Offshore it may sit bow-down at rest. I either have to sit on my outboard at the dock or run the boat at less than planing speed to get the front bilge to drain rearward. You can...

    replacing gas tanks

When I changed my lines I drilled 2 small holes in the ends of each line and wired them tightly together....end to end....with bailing wire. Then one pass of duct tape over the joint....sprayed some WD40 on the old lines. Worked for me. Good luck!

    Fuel Fill Help!

:) I have tried 3 different caps and 2 different fill plates.....the threads on the caps range from 1.25 to 1.5 in...I need 1.75 and the top escutcheons on the new fill plates are all too small....I may have to try the starboard thing Dennis mentions. That is the same thing I had to do when I...

    Fuel Fill Help!

Tried Perko Seasick....the largest I found is 1.5 in threads. I do know the hose size is 1.5 in as I just finished replacing it and everything else associated with the tank.

    Fuel Fill Help!

That probably would work Glacierbaze but my model did not have a fresh water tank. I would gladly go generic if I could find the right size.....don't really care what it looks like as long as I don't get any water in the tank.

    Fuel Fill Help!

LOL....I did Halfhitch.....aside from being about 5x the price it should be, I am pretty sure it won't fit my old Offshore. The escutcheon is considerable larger than anything else I have found.
