We were also looking used but 2008 or newer. Apparently, the transom on 2007 and older cannot handle the weight of the Yam 350's. Not sure about those new 300's. We just didn't want to have a boat underpowered. A lot of the earlier ones had 225's and 250's on them which didn't seem to be...

Bought a cover last year from boat covers direct. Awesome job and well made. Cost me about 800+. Much better then dealing with shrink-wrap and mold in the spring. Paid for itself in one season! Wish I had bought one 5 years ago.

I installed one n my sailfish. Attached the unit to balk head side in bilge next to pump and ran switch to just under steering wheel. Works great. Luckily never had it go off.

I would replace the front seal since it will probably start leaking soon at some point soon. Cheap fix and will buy you another several years.

Good luck. I broke 2 steering wheel removers trying to get my wheel off. Finally a super duper one + two hours of sweat worked! Lets hope you have an easier time with it. Replacing that seal is fairly easy. It was the back one that had a ton of screws and is a pain in the A--.

Leaking seal or two sounds like. Replaced mine earlier this year. Had to bleed the lines a few times afterwards. The grady dealer has a pump that does it and forces fluid through the line and then collects it and filters it so it isn't wasted. It might be easier to remove the helm pump to...

I was told to soak only the tips of them in Ring Free and clean them once per year. Mine still seem ok.

nitrox32 - Did you have to replace it? I was told to just clean them once a year.

How much did you pay for the o2 sensor. Heard they were expensive. Mine seem to be working fine and engines run great. From what I know, changing filters, plugs and cleaning o2 sensor and VST are the major things to do. David

I too am looking to make a move. Have a Sailfish now and looking to move to 33-36 size range. I do like the 4 stroke outboards but would consider diesel. How’s the ride on the P vs. G? My Sailfish has never let me down and I always feel safe no matter what mother nature throws at me.

I'm thinking the Low Pressure pumps. If you haven't changed them in several years, I would as they are not that expensive and the diaphrams inside do wear out.
