Are you talking about the low pressure fuel pumps on Yamaha's? I have had at least one or two fail and since I fish far offshore, I go ahead and change them every 3-4 years. If you indeed have yamaha 2 stroke (mine are OX66 225's), I would change the VST filter and clean the o2 sensor.

You can easily get into a well equipped sailfish or Marlin. It is all about choice - who will be on the boat, where are you fishing etc???. You could also purchase an older 2 stroke one and repower if need be ... but check with Grady first since the 4 strokes are heavier and exceeding weight...

I'm looking to move up and have a 2000 sailfish with twin 225s OX66s. At about 3800 rpms we cruise at 30-32 mph on an average day and burn about 18-19 gph depending on load. Top end is mid 40s but thats burning a ton of fuel.

Mine are brass covered with Stainless so very hard. The problem is that after 10+ years, the caulkn may be wearing away. Going to loosn them one by one and re-caulk. If I had plastic ones I would have replace the day I bought the boat. Would not want one of those givin out offshore!

Same here. Easy access thru hatch but I noticed there was no washer on inside like the other thru hulls. Very strange.

Wow. I'm wondering if there is anyway to ground the boat and prevent this type of damage. At least the boat didn't catch fire. We were fishing the WMO a few years back when a squall blew up and lightning struck a Cabo next To us. Heard a breaker got fried and some wiring but everyone was ok.

Had the same issue with water coming in. We did a overnighter and forward bilge would come on ever 2-3 hours so I went exploring and found a slow leak port side under fish or bait box. May be cracked thru hull so will check it out today. Going to check all others.
