    Grady 226 tow vehicle

Gas F250 would suck the fuel. With the 6.7 I'm around 16 in town and pulling I drop to 10, but I run 75 most of the time, this is with 4.10 gears.

    Grady 226 tow vehicle

Thanks. Hutchy probably doesn't need to go that big, but at least the Silverado. Had a dually since 2011, nothing like them as far as stability on the road. Before that, 3/4 ton diesel single rear wheel, started back in 1999 when I bought my first diesel, never went back.

    Stabilizer with every fill up

Yup, what Parthery said. Marine Sta-Bil and Ring Free every fill up. If you use it all the time, your fuel system is treated 100%. If you add stabilizer at end of season, you never know if it's made it all through the system before lay-up.

    Windlass Installation

I finally got time to remove center cleat and locate windlass as far back as I can get. Looks good to me, rather have the full locker door to use if needed. Rather have the freefall capability with the Pro-Fish than the horizontal windlass that goes on the split hatch. Right now it's sitting on...

    Grady 226 tow vehicle

Agree with others, go Silverado, more mass makes towing and travel a breeze.

4th of July Trip to Charleston SC

I love Charleston. South Carolina is my happy place for sure. I catfish on freshwater lake up by Moncks Corner, saltwater bottom fishing on the artificial reefs offshore of Charleston. Watched the fireworks anchored up in the harbor by Patriots Point many times.

    Should this be like this?

Don't think its a vent. Looks like someone has used a clamshell wire cover to cover over an old wire run. Maybe an old VHF cable run. The residual silicone in the shape of a circle and the 3 random screws around it makes me think it was this.

Ready to go to Key Largo

Just got back from Sarasota last night. Definitely bring a mask at minimum. We were told not to come in some stores if we didn't have a mask, others, even store owners didn't have masks on. Try and have fun and watch your motor this year. Should of had an Evinrude wrap put on it, guaranteed...

    Puck marks in hull

There are some major issues with that boat. All those lines are cracks that haven't flaked off yet. I'd pass on that boat.

    Small Offshore Comparison’s

Yep, factory platform. My bracket is different than yours. The front edge rests on the bracket.

    Small Offshore Comparison’s

We fish out of the Lakeside-Marblehead area. Out around Kelly's and South Bass. Thanks, but I don't see me upsizing anytime soon.

    Small Offshore Comparison’s

I'm in the solo launch and retrieve group also with my 228. My wife, love her dearly, is absolutely no help at all when it comes to handling the boat or the truck and trailer. The 228 is very manageable by yourself, don't let that scare you away from it. There is so much more room on a 228...

Grady White - Help with Model Choices

228 has it factory. I removed mine because it interfered with fishing with both seats reserved watching the lines. Some people use them, I don't. I've seen pics of new model 228's and they seem to have done away with it.

Grady White - Help with Model Choices

I've fished 4 guys on mine, plenty of room. Wine and cheese cruise with another couple, plenty of room. Can launch and load solo. Bigger boat would require help to launch and load. The 258 was on my list also. The 258 wasn't drift sock friendly for my style of fishing. The cockpit area on the...

Grady White - Help with Model Choices

I'm a little biased here but the 228 is a very capable boat to do what you want to do. I trailer mine everywhere as I'm somewhat landlocked in Central Kentucky. I'm in Florida for 2 weeks now, I trailer to South Carolina and it will hit Lake Erie in September. As far as pulling tubes and such...
