Yep that was a previous owner. I'm redoing everything once I get the new hard top built. Luckily the previous owner had it in a lift and only had 200 hours on a 2003. So it really hasn't seen the water much. Knocked around on it some with a plastic hammer so far sounds solid.

Ok finally removed the drain plug from the out board bracket on the 228 and drained about 30 gallons of water but have a question. The pics below show the bracket and the drain plug but shouldn't there be some type of rubber gasket on that drain plug?

Ok found several things today. 1) the PVC cross pipe above the Aux tank area 2) The aluminum motor bracket drain plug that had nearly 30 gallons of water in it. Amazing what you find when you start digging deeper into your boat. Thanks for all the help this forum provides. It really is a blessing.

I'm at a loss here. where is this wire chase you speak of?

Not sure how to get the speaker wire from under the dash where I plan to mount the bluetooth receiver to the port side. Any suggestions?

Thinking of adding a couple of speakers to the boat. Any input on this location (See Pic) thought it would be in out of the weather and pointing to the back of the boat. Its the vacant space in front of the rod holder up under the gunnel.

Been considering the same. Looking at putting one on each side under the gunnel up in the area toward the front pointing back. Looks like the fussion rectangle speakers will fit perfectly and a Janssen Bluetooth amp under the wheel or in the cabin. The new cape horns come with this setup and...

Looked at the Schurter web site and don't see this in 5A only 20A trying to call them.

I was always taught to never switch the battery switch with the motors running as this would blow the power pack on the motor. Was this bad information?

Need someone to measure the hard top. Looks like its about 5" narrower in the front than the back but need exact dimensions front to back and side to side at both locations front and back. If someone will measure it and let me know thanks.

Just had a new one replaced on my 228. Odessa FL George can still get the waterbonet (who made them for Taylormade) windshields based on the serial number.

Thanks I'll give him a call tomorrow when I have the measures. Other thought was to make a wax mole of the starboard side and try to build and epoxy mold.
