cleaning boat yesterday noticed small leak at port engine steering ram. must all be related to overfill and subsequent over pressure. will never do that again!

there did seem to be some variation in max rpm, and it did vary how long it took to get to max rpm, but did seem to stick at max rpm when it got there. did not seem like a computer limitation to rpm to me

i think you are refering to me, thats at 3800-3900 rpm and you mean 1.4 mpg right. if i could get 1.4 gph i might go everywhere by boat!

on my 280 marlin with 1998 250 ox66, the best i can trim out at is 30mph burning 21.5-22 gal/hr. that is ideal conditions. for completeness add in 1/2 gallon oil per hour as well

don't your 250's have aux charge leads? if functional (mine are not) they should handle charging house bank when running and not need an acr. you will need a third battery switch if you go with 3 banks. i would go with 3 banks, 3 1-2-both switches, and a 3 bank charger using original 30 amp...
