Bow Mounted Life raft on Marlin

Bump. There must be someone that has done the bow mount on a Marlin. Did you through bolt the thing? I hate to start drilling without knowing exactly how the bow is built. Next will be a call to Grady, but a photo of placement would be a big plus. Randy

Trailer guide poles or side bunks

They only hold the boat in position once centered. They are not rigid enough to force a Marlin over if you start to get sideways. I have to be careful, and only commit if bow thruster and twin engines can keep her straight. The benefit for me is that it is held in place, and so I can jump...

Trailer guide poles or side bunks

I'm glad I added poles on my triple axle trailer for the Marlin. It will keep it centered if windy conditions make it tough. I used to measure where the fender was with a boathook, no more of that nonsense. Randy

    fischer panda

Thanks for the cogent explanation. My FP suddenly will not start. I'll have to find the relays you mentioned on the genset. Are they both the same part?

Fishermen: Good (And Readily Available ) Reel Lube?

I'm also a believer in Corrosion X products. The HD is good for battery connections, but plain Corrosion X for reel bearings works on my spinners and Avets. I've got a couple 5 gallon buckets of reels to service.

Bow Mounted Life raft on Marlin

I'd like to place a Life raft on the bow of my 2007 Marlin. For those that have done this, how did you secure the cradle? I'm not sure of the build on the top cap, can I use screws or through bolts? Perhaps blind bolts with a toggle? Any help or guidance would be appreciated. I had a 6...

    Antifreeze into/through strainers

I just had 2 of these delivered. A simple hose and funnel will work. I'll also use these to flush the salt water out. Randy

Boat Put Away for 2017 and GW Reflections

Good review on the Gradys. I love my boat, a 2007 Marlin. I don't use the gender much, perhaps that is why it will now not start. I used it when I had poor, tired batteries and I wanted to drift fish. Now with new batteries I had not used it for a month. It will not even give a click now...

    Stitching on bolsters?

I have the same issue. I thought about trying to use a curved needle to stitch it up but am not sure how to go about hiding a finish knot. I'll have them all done next year so I'll try it at some point, just for the remainder of the year.

    Marlin helm seat base

I'll look for my emails, I had to replace the stand but had some info on who to ask , I'll look for the email address. On mine I was told there was no plastic insert, it was an older design. Randy Here is the email string, I hope it helps. Your style of slide assembly does not take a...

268 Islander (Red liquid from rod holder)

My only thought is if the hydraulic fluid used is aircraft grade which is red, and you nicked a line as the rod holder was removed. No help but check the location of the hydraulic lines.

    Transducer fairing Marlin 300

I run the in hull m260 and am happy with it. I also use the RV anti-freeze in the tank. I do not lose bottom unless I reverse to back into the drift. I have Furuno VX2 gear and the boat had a cable for the speed temp transom mount sensor. The combo works fine, just don't let too many...

    300 Marlin life raft storage

Switching between Primary and auxiliary fuel tanks

I run off the stern tank when tuna fishing. As we use up the fuel and the stern becomes a bit lighter allowing me to pack tuna in so as to avoid getting too stern heavy. Halibut and dalmon fishing is not much of a concern so I burn a tank per engine.
