    Rhodan on a Sailfish

Forgot to ask, how to resolve the issue of blocking the nav light?

    Rhodan on a Sailfish

Thanks jsdull! Good pics and like how it lays in there. I like this better than making a plate to mount under the pulpit. Just seems easier to do. I need to collect the information on how to do the rail cutout and parts list/source to add to my plan. I also wonder about the batteries. If going...

    New Style Deck Drain Info

Ah, yeah, I get constant surprises when working under the deck. Just pulled the aft floor panel to change out the primary 1500gph original bilge pump and float switch, repositioned my backup 2000gph bilge pump and float switch, pulled both remote oil tanks, sandblasted/painted the brackets...

    New Style Deck Drain Info

Yeah, I can't make out what is going on in that last pic. Seems if that is the floor, then the oil tank is not mounted vertically. Also, where are those screws coming from as the are not in the floor. This looks more like a bulkhead with a hole that is vertical to the orientation with the oil...

    New Style Deck Drain Info

Hey BobP, yes I remember you and hope all is going well! Thanks for the info and I will definately check it out. I would like to have the SS version as I don't want to do this again, but if they are up too high I might not be happy with the result. Glacierbaze, those are good pics for sure...

    Rhodan on a Sailfish

Searching for the one post I saw a while back where someone made a custom plate and mounted on the under side of the bow pulpit and Rhodan was to the side of the pulpit, but can't seem to find that post. I thought it was on the grady site. I too wonder by now if anyone has mounted one on a...

    New Style Deck Drain Info

Maybe a stupid question, but is the flange tapered for the hole it fits in? I replaced mine years ago and got them from Grady and thought they were tapered .At least the are flush with the floor recess area, but these SS one's look like they have a lip that will stick up some? My model is the...

ok - this is silly ... cup holders question

What I use: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N9LTAZN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 Also I slide one over the guide poles on the trailer so the poles don't mark up the sides of the boat when loading up.

    Windshield wiper performance

I have found the Marineco silicone premium wiper arm/blade lasts the longest. I get about 2 years out of them. However, I slide on a foam insulator over the wiper blade/arm when not in use. It does a couple of things. Protects the blade from the sun and helps keep the blade from resting on the...

    keeping mold away!

I have dealt with bad mold issues for years. It is down inside the hull as well. I have a pretty good handle on it now. I had purchased some commercial mold remediator and put in a spray gun and with over 100psi tried to fog up inside the hull and areas I can not see or get to to help kill it...

    Hit a buoy

I had a very similar type gouge on the side when pulling away from the dock one day and others mentioned using the Spectrum gelcoat pre-colored to match your particular model. I purchased some and have to say folks can't even tell where the damage was before. It is easy to use. Just sand down...

    Sealing the Deck

I have been using the GE II silicone in almond color for many years and have noticed in last year or so, it does not seem to hold up as well as it used to. Not sure if the changed the formula, but is seems to be cracking which is weird or pulling away from the surface. Also is molding faster...

Do I suck or is it my boat?

Best to start off with motors at even trim with the surface of the hull bottom. Neutral position. Then use the tabs down to push the deep V into the waves to help reduce the impact from launching up and slamming down. That is what that V is for, to cut the waves. Once you feel comfortable with...

    2003 282 Windlass Question

I had the 17# and went to the 22#. Added the led. Some improvement in the 22#, but still would just sit there sometimes. Do yourself a favor and get a Mantus. It has self launched every time and has not failed to anchor the first time where I had issues many times with the delta. Just my...

    Toe Rail Replacement Material Source?

I used the King Starboard to make new toe rails for my 252G in Seafoam color and it looks great. PVC is porous so it will look like heck after one season and also is soft so will mark/scratch/gouge really bad. I have used both in many areas on m boat and know this from experience. My tackle...

    home made All-around LED

Interesting idea! Looks good! I purchased an Attwood fold down with stainless base LED light many years ago but seems they are not making the same anymore. Now the fold down is not with the stainless base + LED like I have but instead is a plastic lever with a really strange looking LED light...

Groco macerator install ? for Sailfish

I removed mine many years ago and did the out of tank macerator conversion with good results. No longer have to pull out a nasty pump if any issue. As far as the hoses, just use a heat gun to warm them up and then they remove easier and are easier to manipulate. You can find other posts on here...
