what to replace raw water washdown/livewell pump with?

Like others have already said, 2 separate pumps. I use the Pro Blaster 5gpm I just replaced last year. Had the 4gpm and really don't get that much more pressure. For the livewell, I installed a Piranha 800 which is just right based on specs for volume of water to the 30gal. livewell. However, it...

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

I need to have mine lowered as I can't reach any of them to use it. I have a guy down at the coast that will do it. I just need to take to him off season so he can custom make it. The 252G Sportbridge is very tall, so makes the rocket launchers extremely difficult to use. I have seen other...

Rinsing Salt Water Out on land -

I installed a 3 way with valve after the seacock and prior to going to the pumps. With a hose connected to this, I just stick it in a gallon jug and suck in the fresh water or in winter time, antifreeze to protect everything. It works like a charm.

How long does it last for the battery life on a day? Assuming an average 2-3' day with moderate current?

    VHF Replacement

I have 2 ICOM's currently and have since I got the grady which it had one already. They have been stellar and test excellent each season when I run the test. Can't say same for antenna's, but radios have been great . I now SH makes some good radios, but in my former boat which was more exposed...

Local Grady White Dealer will not work on my Outboard

I read some of those posts on the negativity and they were mostly about stuff such as switches and fuses. Not much about injectors, but your right, like anything aftermarket or from ebay, luck is needed. Just wondering if anyone has tried them on their outboards. I think it would be worth...

Why does my outboard eat coils?

Now that I think more on this, when I pulled the stator off the motor, looking down I could see the damage to the black wire. I did have my engine in the shop first time or two and the mechanic never did find this and I saw that it would not be easy to diagnose or see unless he did a resistance...

Trolling Motor on a 300 Marlin

Very nice install! So basically, the mount is a flat piece of aluminum to fit, through bolted. Then you can just extend out past the rail and then drop down into the water. No need to modify the rail right?

Cost for thorough cleaning and ceramic coating interior/exterior 1988 22' Seafarer Cuddy Cabin

After all the hard work for over a 2 year period when off season, I got my 92's finish looking really nice. I have tried a lot of different products and found that to maintain, I have been using the Shurhold Pro Polish...it seems to last longer than any of the carnuba's. From there I would...

Why does my outboard eat coils?

Problems like this I had many many years ago with my OMC Seadrive which is basically a Johnson motor was that my wiring across the motor was bad. I had found a ground wire that crossed over the top of the block, somewhat buried that had over 6 spots that were swollen with corrosion, so the...

Local Grady White Dealer will not work on my Outboard

I am curious on injectors...sending out to service vs replacing with new one's from ebay? Here is a set for example for my HPDI 200's. A full set of 6 for $81 bucks? Has anyone tried these and what are your thoughts on using these over servicing the originals...

For sure, would not want that to happen! Yikes! Seems one could be made to secure it though that would be secure. Just thinking outloud......

    Rhodan on a 226 Seafarer

I wonder, maybe this is a crazy question, but can these motors be stored upright instead of layed down? Use the depth color to store it upright, maybe not when running offshore or in rough water, but for sure when docking?

    Swim Platform Sealant

I use the GE Silicone II in Almond. For the swim platform, it has a lot of flex and over time, will seperate/crack open. I have just resealed existing and it holds up for about a year. Last time, I switched over to the 3M 4000 UV and it is holding up better so far. The GE Silicone II which is...

    Sailfish 282 Repower to Single?

I would be worried more about running an inlet when it turns sour. That is a lot of hull in the water to lose the torque of 2 wheels down to just one. Also, I think the resale would drop out if ever concerned with that as if I was looking for a 28 and had a single, I would just keep looking. I...

    Anchor Light

If I left mine up, it would be gone in 5 minutes due to trees. My radar barely misses most, but that is only due to me driving certain routes that have higher trees. My light pole has to be higher than the radar dome to be seen. My radar is even flush mounted!
