    New forum design

Hey Guys, I have been away from forum for a little while and when I returned the site had a new look. I like it and who ever worked on it did a good job. I also noticed that we all got new titles. Fishtales for instance is now a well known member. Lol. Where as I am just an active member...

While you're at it replace all the running lights with sealed LED units.

    Yamaha150 VS Suzuki 150 -- Both 4-stroke

Whats on the stern now? If it's Yamaha your current gauges and controls may be compatible with the mechanical Yamaha inline 4 line up. You could save rigging costs. The Suzuki appears to be a great motor. When I repowered 2 seasons ago, I looked at them online but in my neck of the woods...

Hello from Texas - soon to be a GW owner

Congrats! No recent model of Grady from the 90s on until now comes with Mercury. They had a run with Evinrude and Johnson and by the 2000s came along, it was Yamaha. If the boat is early 2000s You may want to get the engine scoped for that mid section dry exhaust corrosion issue of 2002-2006...

    Some one please help!!!

Is there one on the boat currently? If not, try going to top dealer ( somebody who makes Bimini tops/hard tops, etc) or call your local Grady or any boat dealer and ask who they might recommend to make bow rails?

    Grady white 192

I will second Brian's statement. With my 2 Stroke 150, it ran in the low 40s and with my 4 stroke 150, again , low 40s. Something is either off with the prop and or motor height.

    Transom cap

I don't think they used Greenwood XL in 1998. I thought it was not used until 2000 or 2001? I could be wrong.

    Props for my 33 express

I would turn 4 blade props on that boat. I don't know if you are or not. A friend of mine had an expression 330 and repowered with 300s. He used mercury 4 blade..I don't the size. 4 blade props add low and mid range performance and a nudge of stern lift. We noticed better fuel economy at...

Motor position on your 20-24 foot grady

That I can not confirm. The 3.3 is no longer on their website. They say 1.75 : 1. I am looking forward to moving it up 1 hole. I am hoping my fuel economy will improve at cruise.

Motor position on your 20-24 foot grady

Gear Ratio of the 4.2 is 1.75:1 I am curious more about cruising RPM and speed. Raising the motor would seem to improve top end. Will the reduction of drag improve mid range speed and fuel economy.

Motor position on your 20-24 foot grady

Grady says it should be the 2nd hole for the F250 4.2 liter . So, there you go.

Motor position on your 20-24 foot grady

So, Doc, you're a smart boaterman , if you were in my shoes, leave it or move up one? I think two might be too much. I don't recall the position of the OEM installed motor.

Motor position on your 20-24 foot grady

Seasick, you could be right. My factory rigged 3.3 liter maxed out at 6,000 RPM and I got 42 mph with a 4 blade prop. With the new motor it never exceeds 5,600 RPM and a top speed of 46. John rigs boats in Kentucky and said it was in the safe mode as it were. I don't really max it out...

Motor position on your 20-24 foot grady

Hey Guys, KY Grady stopped by my house the other day and we chatted and had a lunch together. It was dreamy, two 228 owners breaking bread. Anyway, John noticed that Mid Carolina Marine mounted my 4.2 liter F250 on the first hole (top hole) on the motor mount motor side. When he got home his...

    Why a Grady?

Congrats on your choice. Why a Grady? I bought a Grady well because my brother owned one and I wanted to be just like him. Lol. I have owned 2. I had a 192 dual console and my current 228 which I love. I drank the cool aid and they make a great boat. However, I must warn you, being a...

    4 blade prop recommendation?

I loved my 4 blade prop...until it got stolen with my motor. I will be getting another this season.

    Grady white 192

Digital is smooth! I love it. There are no cables to bind and get corroded. The throttle is fluid and seamless. Also, when cruising or trolling the RPM stays exactly where you set it with no throttle creep which often is lower RPM. It's cooler to when you brag about it to your friends who are...

    Replacing Bennett Hydraulic Lines

You guys are on it! After several phone calls , I have it. Bennett makes the length specific to my boat. It's 25 feet long. They don't retail it and Grady doesn't supply the part either. So between Grady, Seeles Outboard in Mt. Pleasant and Bennett I am getting a custom order set with...

    A decade on my 228

Doc, it's always a pleasure visiting with you when you wander our way. Your 226 has been good to you. Those new Hondas as nice. You should get in some skinny water off of Homasassa now with that jack plate. I got my boat in 09 and it's an 08 leftover. I saved some money but I recall buying...
