Fusion units also have NMEA2000 connectivity. If you have a newer Garmin chartplotter you can control the unit from the display. Fusion app for phone as well.

265 not so fresh water tank

My water tank is under the hatch at the helm. Accessible and relatively clean. This photo is before reinstalling it. The 268 Islander has a 132 and 72 gallon tanks. The aft tank is easy. The main tank is forward and you have to cut bulkhead out and notch the step to get the tank out. The 270...

Garmin Fusion has several. My Islander had a DIN size unit. I installed RA70 for $169.99. That has everything you are looking for. No adapter plate necessary. I used all existing wiring. Disconnected mating GW cable from boat and took the other end off old unit. Spliced the cable/connector off...

    Grady 205 Biggest GPS?

I just look at last post. In this case I looked back and saw all these responses but none from the original poster. First time member probably off Facebook GW group never came back.

    1988 20ft Overnighter 204-C Fuel Tank specs

Start with going to GW site and find your owners manual. Older boats and smaller ones (you have both) are combined into one manual. See what you can find out from there. Also call GW customer service. They are quite helpful. Get your questions in order first before calling. When you are...

Need to ground a fuel tank

Nothing worse than trying to understand a previous owners hack job! I'm fortunate with my 1997 GW 268 Islander. 10 years old when I bought it. All original wiring intact and working when I got the boat. Very few holes drilled in it as well. I stripped both electronic boxes and rewired the new...

    Grady 205 Biggest GPS?

We could all help you better if you told us what modelboat you have, a photo of the helm and where you would like to install it.

Need to ground a fuel tank

I have seen that style of sender somewhere before. Something like this? Has a tab for the ground.

Need to ground a fuel tank

Why hack the wiring? Just clean up what is there. The are two wires to the each of the sending units - a pink and a green. The green has a green splice that goes to the tank. Green goes to "fuel ground" near the batteries. Look at Skunkboat's schematic. On my boat GW used a 2-pin trailer...

    Wiper mechanism

The stainless wipers on the older boats are “school bus wipers”. NAPA had them. Later I switched to an automotive wiper. Recently I eliminated the wipers and the horn- tired of rust stains.

Need to ground a fuel tank

From my GW manual... Fuel tanks sender Main / Aux. Pink and Pink/White Also a white wire. Both connected to sending unit. Fuel Grounds. Green goes into harness as well - attached to tank. This was good enough for GW. Don't run new wires...

Need to ground a fuel tank

Usually there is a green wire to the tank ground and to the fuel fill. Not sure where goes but it does go into the harness. I just hooked them up! Check GW Owners Manual for your boat (available online at GW).

Outriggers on a 275 Freedom. Where do you connect the halyards?

I guess if it's in the right place and low enough you can step over it. When I'm sailfishing the riggers are out. I frequently have a sea anchor out too which I deploy and retrieve from the bow 6 to 12 times a day. Sometimes the windlass gives me grief when I put too much line out and the...

Outriggers on a 275 Freedom. Where do you connect the halyards?

With a walk around like mine that doesn't work. I don't want to climb over the halyards to get to the bow - which is frequent.

Outriggers on a 275 Freedom. Where do you connect the halyards?

You can run with the the halyards clipped down to the cord on the gunnel. The haylard gets in the way at the dock so I always disconnect when done fishing and wrap around rigger up top. It's easy to do/undo. Some guys are nervous about drilling a hole in their boat. The stainless fairlead thru...

Outriggers on a 275 Freedom. Where do you connect the halyards?

I have since switched to GemLux Deluxe stainless rigger bases but the setup was not otherwise changed. The Hayward are equal length 400lb blue mono (dual roller at top). Rupp haylocks with a medium snap on it. When layed out the clip attaches to the ring/line on the gunnel which has a cam cleat...

The cup holder drains will drain into the bilge. Sometimes there is a clear or a tywrap to serve as a guide to keep in somewhat in place.

    stereo upgrade in 282 sailfish

I did a similar install as Fishtails. Fusion head unit, Fusion 4" speakers in the cabin and 6" at the helm all in factory openings. I installed a Fusion bridged 2-channel amp (removed refrigerator and installed in there). Installed 8" JBL subwoofer on port side cabin steps (also in refrigerator...
