    Trailer Problems

Steep ramps do make it tougher. Whatever plastic you have should be good enough. Get the power winch. Pull back out a few feet till the boat sits back down on the bunks fully and then powerwinch it in. If you leave it partway in the water (but still touching the bunks) then at least "some"...

Fixing soft spot with flex seal

Yeah, I wouldn't be using a relatively new product in an untested way. If you guys want to be the guinea pigs, go for it! :) But I can't imagine a rubbery product performing (long term) ANYWHERE near as good as a resin that soaks INTO the wood. How long have you tested Flex Seal in constant...

    Trailer Problems

I've never seen THAT much of a change - where the boat slides/pivots THAT much back aand away from the winch stand. You must really have the stern floating quite a bit? Are you at a ramp where you can power load? If so, you won't need to have the trailer in the water as far, which will allow...

    My first fiberglass recore

If it was done correctly, it should last decades, at least. If he reports back that there's a problem, it's not the DC's fault! :) I used cheapo foamboard insulation about 6 years ago. Certainly if that works, anything else will be fine.

1997 adventure 208 windshield screw cover

Oh, your "filler" is actually FULLY round? Can't say I've ever seen that kind before. But, sure, black rubber hose from HD sounds like an easy fix. Unless, of course, you wanted to upgrade to something fancier... ;)

Check out Barbour Plastics and Taco Marine. Otherwise, your dealer can probably get you what you want with a short phone call.

    Grady White 180 - Yamaha F150

Glad to hear. I didn't follow up on my first post regarding wondering about proper trimming when you didn't respond to it... but do you think this was the problem all along?

    New to me boat

Must be a bulkhead - looks like it's separating two tank. Kyle, I feel for 'ya. That must be like a kick in the gut. If you're comfortable with the repair - go for it - just realize it's going take a lot of time and the amount you need to repair will get 2 or 3 times larger than what you...

    Removing Diesel Soot from Hull

I know that Roll Off works well from personal experience - but if the soot is on there for too long then you have to get more aggressive. Just remember that the Soft Scrub is taking the wax off... which makes the soot "stick" better from then on out... again requiring the harsher product. I...

    Quick question

With PVC you run the risk of it cracking and sinking the boat. There's absolutely nothing wrong with hose - that's what's done on thousands upon thousands of boats - yours is no different. Good quality, reinforced hose is perfect for this job. Cross-linked poly is great, too.

    Removing Diesel Soot from Hull

Yup, that'll work. Just be gentle as Soft Scrub is somewhat abrasive and can dull a shiny gelcoat. I'm not sure if you regularly wax your boat, but the more often you wax (and use a high quality wax like Collinite 885), the easier it is to remove with regular cleaning products (sometimes just...

    New to me boat

It's just a knee wall, so really no big deal to fix if needed. FROM THE PICTURE (you can see better than us), though, it doesn't look that bad. However, it's also hard to get a good read on things since there's a lot of dirt in the way. Drill a core sample at the top and bottom in a few...

    bottom paint

In the end, there's no "one best" way to take a boat off a trailer... unless I'm at work and then I can just lift it off with the overhead lifts! It's not rocket science, either. As a dumb, 17-year old kid I decided to take our boat off the trailer in our driveway one day, just to see if I...

    bottom paint

I can guarantee the person writing that "how to" never actually did it. I only quickly scanned it and didn't look at it very close, but two things caught my eye that are totally false: -- "You may need a friend to help keep the tongue down". Yeah, right. You may need 5 friends to pick it...

Anyone have any luck ordering original canvas?

So this always intrigues me. Murphy, you just joined and replied to a thread that is 8 years old. How did you come to find that thread for your first post? Just curious! :)

    bottom paint

Pulling the trailer out from underneath the boat is pretty easy with a small boat - but you still need to take your time and double check your cribbing as you go, of course. I don't know your skill set, but to give you an idea, someone that's had experience with this can do it less than an...
