So getting around to repowering the Grady with some Mercury 225 Fourstrokes and was wondering what to do with the oil tank filler located on the stern? Any ideas???

Just purchased a pair of Mercury 225's Fourstrokes for my '94 27 sailfish. Pretty much the same hull as yours. They are not installed yet but per Grady White, they are the only 4 strokes on the market that wouldnt sink the scuppers. I'm replacing the original 200 yamaha two strokes.

Just a FYI, my 27 Sailfish uses a 5800 btu unit that is raw water unit.

Mine loaded with 202 gals fuel, 32 gals. water and trailer = 9400 lbs.

I'm going from memory here...so take it for what it's worth. I believe I ordered 20' for the starboard and 22' for the port. If I can find my old reciept I will verify for you.

Does your 96 have the stepped up hull at the transom as the 94 does? If so, you will want to check with Grady to see what weight that boat hold on the stern. Just a FYI...They told me I could not put the Yamaha F200's on the back of mine due to too much weight on the stern. Right now my only...

I have the same boat in the '94 model with basically the same engines. Fully loaded with 202 gals of fuel, 32 gals of fresh water, ice, bait, beer and up to eight people and you can count on 1.0 mile per gallon. A few less people and you might creep up to 1.3 mpg. As for the engines, thought...

This means that the port tank oil level is in the safe zone. The starboard tank needs oil added to it before the audible alarm starts to sound. It's a very short trip from yellow to red. Ask me how I know. Each tank holds roughly 3 gals of oil. And yes, each remote tank should have a sensor...

Topped the tank off that afternoon prior to turning on AC. And yes, pretty hot right now.

Got a '94, 27 Sailfish with a/c. Haven't stayed on the boat since last year but decided I would tonight. Need to get an early start to a long tomorrow. Anywho, turned AC on this afternoon and when I returned later this evening I was greeted with a very strong smell of gasoline in the cabin...

I'm not real familiar with the islander but on my 27 sailfish the ac unit is mounted behind the fridge, so there is room for both.

Great looking boat. I'm located in Little River myself. We're practically neighbors. And yes...I've done the 14 hour boatride to the stream and back.
