    Bow Pulpit

I swapped emails with the Craigslist guy.... Good glass guys are hard to find almost impossible, I’ve been doing this stuff for 40 years, But I’m not really scheduling work right now I’m too busy, I did build this myself Ken I sent a message to your other email, are used to do a lot of OEM...

    Bow Pulpit

That bow pulpit is near me in south Jersey. Interesting thing is that it a new construction bow pulpit. As far as I know Coosa board was not used in GW factory construction. You should ask where he got it from. It's possible that whoever built it may be making other components for GW. That would...

    Can't find a source. I'm at a roadblock.

Original windows are "school bus glass". Regular glass (not tempered) with plastic sheet in-between. Difficult to drill the hole for the pull so close to the edge. Acrylic (best choice) or Lexan polycarbonate is easy/cheap way to go. Use black silicone or maybe black 5200. Tempering results in...

    Fuel tank install

I have seen tanks that have right-angle pieces of HDPE machined as blocks to keep the tank down in place and also blocking to control side-to-side.

    vent window repair

Marine Glass Specialties in FL took over the Water Bonnet business. But I'm not sure they are in business or want to bother with old stuff.

    Rod adapters

Typically the rear and corner rod holders are 15 degrees and clocked straight back. The next pair up the gunnel are 30 degree and clocked out maybe 15 degrees. The most forward set are 30 degree and clocked out maybe 30 degrees. Depending on the boat you can go to 4 sets down the gunnel. You...

    Galvanic Corrosion???

That is a lot more access then I need! You have a different cockpit layout than mine. Maybe some of the other CC owners will comment.

    livewell fills

Not sure if mine gets water in. Usually I have it stopped off and have bait in it. If I were using it as a cooler I guess it would have to be stopped off.

    Rod adapters

Personally I don't like the bent butt standup rods. Depending on your rods you may not be able to convert them. Get 15 and 30 degree rods holders and swap the existing ones out.

    Galvanic Corrosion???

I can't quite visualize where this is on the boat. Don't be offended but I think it looks like a real hack job. The fire extinguisher is mounted to the removable bracket? The mate for the bracket is mounted to the aluminum tubing? All of of this is exposed to the sun and salt water? The clamps...

    4 Blade Prop on 222

Why don't we let the expert at PropGods have a say? All this speculation is a waste of time.

    Fuel tank install

Is the new tank identical to the old tank? There is no such thing as “level” on a boat. I would shim tank to be even off the hull/compartment. Then secure it.

    Center console or walkaround/express?

As Fishtales and SkunkBoat have said it all depends on use case. Over the years I have spent a lot of time in Florida crusing and fishing. So much so that I don't use my boat up North. It goes South every winter. Anyway given that you are in St. Augustine, if it were me, I would not tow around...

    Center console or walkaround/express?

I tow a 268 Islander with twin F150's from Cape May to Islamorada every winter. My new Ford F150 tows it fine but I'm at the limits of the vehicle. Anything larger and you will need a F250 class vehicle based on weight. My 2022 F150 XL has a 11,300 lbs tow capacity. Not loaded. 3.5 V6 Ecoboost...

    4 Blade Prop on 222

Get your performance numbers together loaded up. Call PropGods.com On my Islander with twin F150's they recommended dropping 2" of pitch, 4-blade props and a different style. They said boat was "slipping". Didn't think I would loose any speed. Dramatically improve low and mid-range...

Fire Extinguisher and Life Ring mount locations on CC

My #1 fire extinguisher is at the helm on Starboard side. My #2 fire extinguisher is inside the cabin in the head. Should be mounted next to EPIRB on Port side going into cabin (this summer). My throw ring is inside the cabin hanging on coat hook. Making a bag and moving to transom door or...

    Antifouling color Bimini 306

I spoke to the shop that services the bottom on this customers boat. It's done in Seahawk Color Coat - Bright White. He said Seahawk has really upped their game in the last few years and this paint is fantastic. The owner scrubs it occasionally during the season and power washes it off at the...
