Garmin Radar need a pedestal - GW 232

Scanstrut has several. On my 268 Islander with the GMR18 Fantom and no base I’m at 12’ 0”. Clearance depends a lot on your trailer.

GW is supposed to be positive flotation. Maybe it will swamp but float clean side up.

A couple questions for Tournament owners.

I bang my stainless props every year in a narrow coral infested canal in Florida Keys. Occasionally get sideways and bump. Sometimes engine stalls. I‘m going slow and so far no serious damage. One blade tweaked but you can’t feel it. I doubt aluminum would do as well.

    2006 sailfish refrigerator

I'm thinking the refrigerator is broke! Have them take it out and bench test it until it's fixed. Not that hard to do! The refrigerator only needs a 12 vdc power supply. Depends on nothing in the boat. Unfortunately most marinas are not capable of fixing refrigerators and ice machines. They...

    2006 sailfish refrigerator

https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/converting-refrigerator-from-dc-to-ac-dc.31742/ When you said the marina should fix it - is this a new to you boat purchase? Was this supposed to be working when you bought it? If not what FishTails said is true. Given the age of the refrigerator it may be...

    Covering Dash Cutouts

Starboard doesn't glue well. Best answer is oversize patch on top, an insert to fill the old hole and a backing plate all with starboard (Seafoam green). Whatever you are mounting use the screws to go all the way thru. You can use 4200 to hold everything in place and screw together. If you...

    2006 sailfish refrigerator

Not sure exactly. A few hours maybe. I turn it on when I get to FL in the Winter and never turn it off for a month or two. It's always cold. How high do you have the thermostat turned up? Inside next to freezer. Mine at 3/4. It a 12vdc only unit. I made a modification documented in a...

    Antifouling color Bimini 306

Xavier - before you bottom paint you 1.) need to solvent wipe the hull to remove any wax and get it clean and 2.) you should apply a barrier coat (several coats per manufacturer). No option to rack or lift store the boat in Guinea?

    Mooring Lines

When you say swivel that clip doesn't have a swivel it's just a clip. The stainless clip and some 3-strand line - West Marine. They might be able to do the splice for a fee. Buy a small splicing fid and watch a few YouTube video's. Not that hard to do 3-strand.

    Antifouling color Bimini 306

I have a customer with a 37 Regulator bottom painted white. Boat is in water all season here in NJ. Every year it comes back it looks fantastic. From a distance you can't tell its bottom painted. He tells me that they beach the boat a few times during the season and scrub it down. Doesn't know...

    More Trim Tab Troubles

Probably ran home run to the battery. Not the best choice of colors. Should at least shrink a red and black on the cable. Over time you forget what you did and invite reversing them when you need to pull the batteries out for some reason. I've done it because of previous owner. Burned up a...

    More Trim Tab Troubles

Move the terminals to the other battery. How old is that battery? Checked water level lately? 12.2 volts is not good. You may have a bad cell.

    More Trim Tab Troubles

The extra wire is not the problem. Wire gauge is fine. Get a meter on the battery and check voltage while you try to move the tabs.

    More Trim Tab Troubles

It's behaving like a battery problem. Put a voltmeter on the battery and try the trim tabs. Move the trim tabs to the other battery with a jumper for testing and try them. Check crimps. Make sure your ground wire is solid. Check the positive wire as well. Ground wire is a common problem but...

    Boat Advice

Point is his life is dependent on the reliability of his boat. I sailfish 4 miles off the beach and can see land. I also have Coast Guard and BoatUS. Am I risking my life - sure I am - but it's a very different when you have a safety net. There is nothing wrong with your opinion. Boat should be...
