    Silicon caulk or 4200?

4200/5200 are not mold resistant and too much of an adhesive. I’m using 4000uv. A good quality silicone is ok too but I like the 4000 better-easier to remove.

Thruster install on 232, will post pics!

The tube is a Vetus fiberglass tube. Look at the photo further up in the post of the unfinished tube to see thickness. Try to move it! If it moves at all its a serious problem - start over - but I think your fine. My last recommendations were to fill gaps and add strength to the tube edge and...

Glass cloth add strength. Fill and wrap glass outside and around the inside the tube 1/2". Finsh sand and gel coat. Inside looks good.

Thruster install on 232, will post pics!

Not finished enough. Radius the edge of the tube in. Get some filler on it especially on the edge gaps. Get everything smooth before gel coat.

Washdown pumps, 3.5 vs 4 gpm.

If you have a washdown pump and were satisfied with it stay with the same or similar model. Keep the mounting and hoses the same. I run my washdown pump off my Rule bait tank pump. No problem...

    Tiny ring terminals

https://www.amazon.com/Fastronix-Style-Screw-Terminal-Strip/dp/B019BI2F3G I think SkunkBoat has the right idea. Double up the wire and use red lugs. I use the bigger ones too - like blue or yellow. The Ancor's are good but overkill. Pull on the crimps afterwards. Ring terminals and power strips...

Quick question: Wireless phone charger - will it interfere with magnetic compass if mounted too close?

I have an Scanstrut ROKK active charger mounted on the side of my helm underneath my compass. No interference problems.

    07 330 Express Bow Thruster

Never thought about my thruster. Probably full synthetic lube. As long as you don't chew a seal up with fishing line or shaft crud it will last a long time. Good thing too because you would have to pull the whole unit out top and bottom to check or change.

    07 330 Express Bow Thruster

Got me thinking about mine. This is from my Vetus 4512D Bow Thruster Installation Manual: "The bow thruster tailpiece has long-term lubrication."

    Ground wire corrosion in outboard

Cowling drains can be a big problem. They either clog or the zinc material corrodes. Should be checked and snaked out with 300 mono. While you are at it do the fuel cooler and tell-tale drain. Every season.

    3D Print?

You can find that part online. I think I got mine from Great Lakes Skipper. Get a diameter and search.

I just closed out a THT thread on Garmin Navionics+ built-in maps to replace Garmin 3G Bluecharts in my 8612xsv and 8619xsv. Told by members it couldn't be done. I figured out how to do it. After posting results I get qualified answers like "well it will only work on certain units". Too many...

    Gemlux Bluewater bases on GW335

GemLux told me that many of the rigger bases have standard mounting. Too bad you can't get a GemLux Deluxe and test fit it. But that won't help you with 22' riggers with larger bases. Well - gook luck!

    Gemlux Bluewater bases on GW335

Too much work to move them. Ask GW exactly what fits!

    Gemlux Bluewater bases on GW335

I went with the GemLux bases because they are stainless. The aluminum ones don’t look so good after a while. There is a reason GW switched. If you’re prepared to spend on top of the line riggers and bases what would have to be done/cost to get it the mounting the way you want?

Tie off line with a windlass?

Let more out and tie if the line. You don’t want things too rigid. A boat wake could be a problem.

    Gemlux Bluewater bases on GW335

Call the GemLux crew. The stainless rigger base are so much better than the other crap out there. GemLux will make it right! Look carefully at my installation. I used the GemLux backing plates.. I also used bushing to insulate the rigger bases from the aluminum tower. Highly recommended, I...

    Using an IPAD for Navigation.

This is a dead end...Navionics app doesn't have a way to show marker names... True the various manufacturers (including Garmin) handle this differently. But the Navionics app doesn't and it doesn't work for me. Deal breaker!
