    330 Express Questions

If you decide to replace the foam in your cushions, ponder this input. On my 330, I removed the multiple cushions in the aft cabin in favor of a SINGLE mattress. I did this because when I slept down there, the original cushions were moving on me a bit when I rolled over, etc. I really...

    330 Express Horn - Suggestions?

I concur. I will continue to use my portable, canister type, boat horn. No big deal. I rarely use it. Thank you for the input!

    330 Express Horn - Suggestions?

Yes - more like a year or two (max.). I have a portable boat horn to pass USCG inspection but want to but a more durable electric horn in place.

    330 Express Horn - Suggestions?

Love my 330 Express however the electric horn it comes with is unreliable. I replaced it twice and it just doesn't work after a month or two. Any recommendations on a RELIABLE replacement horn? Looking for ease of replacement and electric I guess (not air horns). Thanks,

    Vacu Flush Duck Bill Replacement

Good feedback to you on this job from the above. A friend told me "There are worse jobs than that but I can't think of what it is right now" (lol) One input, when I replaced my Duckbills, I recall a fitting or two in there that was reverse threads. So, don't force anything in there when...

    33’ Express questions

As above, I too have a 2006 330 with F250's. 1,700 flawless hours now and love the boat and power. I get a consistent one MPG as measured in nautical miles (more if measured in statute of course). I cruise at 4,400 RPM's with my 4 blade props and that gives me 24 knots roughly. If I were to...

    Comparing 330 Express Years 2004 and 2008

On the 2008's and above, those folding doors to access the genset leak water. Nothing's perfect I guess.

    Comparing 330 Express Years 2004 and 2008

As stated above, I'd steer clear of ones with the 350's. That said, I fished a lot on a friend's 2013 330 with the F350's and those engines are Awesome - - but he's had a few issues with them. My old trusty 2006 has the bullet proof F250's (1,700 hours now). If, when, I repower, I will go...

    Grady 228 switches

When I had my 228 (which I regret selling BTW), I had the same problem. What I did was make little wedges out of that black foam material you see restaurants put on the floor in their kitchens - the anti-fatigue type foam. Anything will do. The stuff I used was like 3/8" thick. So I would...

    330 express

I've owned my 2006 330 for 9 years. No issues whatsoever except maybe me not using it enough (lol)! Seriously, I agree with the above remark on repowers. While my F250's perform great, more HP is always welcome. I think the F300's are the perfect set-up for these boats. When I re-power...

First Grady then second Grady still in progress

Yes - looks really nice. Good on you to take care of a "vintage" Grady the way you do. Not easy!

    Deck Plate replacement

I happen to like every bit of advice Fishtales provides on this board. And he is right on as to the Beckson plates. I changed mine out some 8 years ago due to his reason #1. There was a GW Marlin that filled with water and rolled because a pop out lid released in the splash well in the...

    Trailering 33’ Grady-white express

The 330 is a BEAST. I personally wouldn't trailer one for more than a 1/4 mile but that's me. Haul it out for service very near the boat ramp...

Stereo modifications on a 33 express

Yes. The Amp I have, which I like, is linked below. Located in the aft berth port side behind the access plate there by the FW and trim tab pumps. You can easily run a separate (and fused) power line (thick) through the rigging tube there which leads directly to the battery bank (port stern)...

how to carry extra diesel for generator 330 Express

I'm told the 12G remote tank can support 48 hours of run time (which is a lot BTW). So, no, I never had a need to carry extra fuel. I top off my tank with a Tempo 12G (square shaped) plastic tank and a siphon. I place the Tempo on top of the aft fish box hatch, open the diesel fill cap, and...

Transom Seal (Should I Be Worried?)

I agree with the above. When time and $ permit, it's a good idea to have a thorough inspection and proceed from there. You might be able to do much of the work yourself. The boat is 24 years old so it's probably due for this anyway... A couple things you can do now: 1. Drill a couple of...

I'm thinking about purchasing a 2019 Marlin 300 and would love feedback from current or former Marlin owners

Why buy new? And why not a 3 or so year old 330 with 300's? You'll get all the seating (and cabin space) you want for cruising and bigger is better for that sort of thing. There are older 330's in great shape repowered with 300's out there. Whatever you get, I'd say be sure to get the...

    Replacing triangular vent window

Yours may be like mine. It is simply silicon caulked in place in the U shaped frame. No need to take apart the window frame. Just carefully remove it from the U shaped frame. Heating it a bit with a heat gun or hair dryer will soften up the silicon caulk and it'll slide right out.

    Seakeeper on a 36

A friend of mine has one installed on his 330 Express. Of course, it consumes most of the aft berth (36" cube in size) and adds weight. He has twin F350's so it really didn't affect his boat's performance much but added extremely good stability in any kind of sea. When we are bored and for...

Fischer Panda Maintenance - Important item

More on this from the Biobar-JF product description. I'm pretty sure this was what was happening inside my 13 year old diesel fuel tank... Microbial Growth: When discussing issues in diesel fuel, microbial growth is widely known as the most common reason for fuel related engine failure...
