NEW FISHBOX LID ON 330 EXPRESS

Easiest fix for this is to hunt around for a piece of closed cell shipping foam that is say 2" thick and as wide and long as the top of your fish box. You've seen it - it's that white or blue stiff used for shipping appliances or similar large items. Then you simply cut it to size so it serves...

Adding rod holders on gunnels, 330 Express

My advice: When you get the urge to drill a hole in your boat, sit down and wait for that urge to go away. Just sayin...

Switching between Primary and auxiliary fuel tanks

Everwhom, I'm with you brother. After running my 330 engines from one tank at a time for 6 years, I now run my F250's pulling from two tanks. I like the idea of the gas not getting stale and my fuel gauge(s) don't seem to drop as much (Ha Ha)!

    Slipping a 330 express

Yes to the above + buy a pair of cowling covers to further minimize rubbing. Personally, I'd figure out how to set your lines without criss crossing. They will rub 24 hours a day and cause harm to something eventually... My 330 is held nicely with a pair of spring lines off the mid ship...

    330 Express Repower Questions

So with the 250 Suzukis, assuming your GPS reads in Statute mph, you're doing one Nautical MPG at cruise (27 statute mph = 23.5 knots).

    RING FREE

Me too. I add it every fill up at a rate of one ounce per ten gallons of gas (as described in the mixing instructions). Over 900 hours of use and all is well. Expensive stuff but if you buy it by the case at Domo, it's less bad cost wise. Ask any Yamaha Mechanic - the stuff really works.

Busted for riding on the bow

Kinda makes all walk arounds illegal. And what about sitting in the bow seats of any center console? Getting a ticket for this makes absolutely no sense to me.

    good polishing wax

For your application, I recommend "3M Super Duty Rubbing Compound" followed by a nice top coat (or two) of Collinte Fleet Wax #885. Read and follow the instructions on the 3M Super Duty. And, when you apply the Collinite - do NOT let it dry to a haze. You want to apply it and remove it...

Outrigger Install on Grady 232 Hardtop Weld or Backer Plate?

Re: Outrigger Install on Grady 232 Hardtop Weld or Backer Pl Why not ask your GW Service Manager what he/she thinks? Backing plates + Hoping for the best on 15 foot riggers seems unwise to me. If we had solid fiberglass hard tops, I'd go with backing plates. Remember that while running your...

Outrigger Install on Grady 232 Hardtop Weld or Backer Plate?

Re: Outrigger Install on Grady 232 Hardtop Weld or Backer Pl Like Elyse said above: WELD the unit to your piping. Anything else and you are taking a short cut and asking for problems down the road. The hard top of your Gulf Stream is balsa core and as such will absorb water like a sponge...

Love my Marlin, so 'Sell' me on getting a 330!

You seem to have analyzed your situation quite well. Congratulations... I have a pal who loves his Marlin and no doubt, it is a very well laid out boat. I have owned my 330 for over 6 years now and can say you raise good points on the few negatives of the 330. As a non-walk around, the 330 of...

    outrigerrs for 330 express

in Outriggers - Bigger is definitely better. Go long and stiff. Also - be sure they are welded or connected somehow to the aluminum hard top frame (not just sandwiched to the fiberglass/balsa cored hard top). They transmit a great deal of stress to the mounting area.

    new strataglass (A & J Canvas)

Agreed 100%. I did the same thing for my 2006 330 and had the same excellent experience. This is yet another example why Grady-White continues to have the best customer service and post warranty support of any boat on the water. Miss Lee is terrific!

New member in NJ seriously interested in 330 express

I have owned a 2006 330 for 6 years now and use it out off San Francisco year round. The 330 has a great hull for everything I encounter off my coast (think BIG swells - much bigger than the East Coast stuff. I know because I grew up in NJ and fished there until I was 22). I agree with...

    330 Express Repower Questions

What is your cruising speed, GPH with the 4 blades ? >>> I cruise at 22-24 knots and burn 24-27 GPH getting .88 nautical MPG or 1.0 statute MPG. I run my boat 100% in the ocean off San Francisco (think big swells) and I tend to be pretty heavy with fuel, water, ice and crew. On any given...

    330 Express Repower Questions

The exact brand and model of my props are: Brand: Power Tech Model: Off Shore "OFS 4" in 15.25 diameter and 16 Pitch with shift dampener hubs. The standard pitch offered is in odd #'s like 15, 17 and 19. But after trying a set of 17's then 15's, I asked them to make me set of 16's and they...

    F-350s on a 330 Express

Good point on the stress imposed on the stringers. I guess time will tell... There are other boat manufacturers (big boats) that offer SeaKeeper as an option. Be interesting to determine if any of them do as you suggest (I would).

    F-350s on a 330 Express

Where do they mount a sea keeper on the 330 express? >>> It is mounted in the aft berth. It takes up about 2/3rds of it. Could still have one small person sleep there. The SeaKeeper is in a 36" sized cube and is bolted to the ribs of the boat down low. Runs off AC power so your genset is...
