    F-350s on a 330 Express

One last thing to consider, actually two: #1. In the years to come, an F400 might be available(?). If so, the F350's might seem "tame", and #2. If ever you decide to add a Sea Keeper system (gyro stabilizer), you really need that extra HP from the 350's to carry the extra weight of the Sea...

    F-350s on a 330 Express

I found this interesting which I copied over from another recent thread on this topic (under the "Tips and Modifications" forum). And, no doubt, the 350's will have more torque and higher WOT speed if that's what you want: I just repowered my '03 330 Express with the F250XCA offshores (digital...

    F-350s on a 330 Express

I have a 2006 330 with F250's. I have owned it for 6 + years and have never felt it was underpowered. I can cruise all day (and night) at a comfortable 24 knots (27.6 mph statute) and the engines are not hurting in any way. Plus, the F250 is easy to work on and super reliable. That said...

    330 Express Repower Questions

Agreed on the prop recommendation. I switched my 330 Express with twin F250's over to four blade 16 pitch props and I'm very happy with them. Much more torque, same economy and just a tad less top end speed which I view as a very fair trade off. These boats are HEAVY and I think a 4 blade...

THE FINER POINTS OF YAMAHA WATER PUMP REPAIR: QUESTIONS

I must have done 10 or 12 of these and used to always keep the engine in neutral but after a few frustrating installs, I now keep the engine in Forward Gear. Keeping it in gear seems to be easier and avoids the hassle of lining up the shift shaft splines.

    F250 vs F300 on a 33 express

Norm, I'm thinking you are seeing some major prop "slip" there. For comparison, I have a 2006 330 with the original 3.3L F250's. I run them with 15" pitch, 4 blade, props and can run the boat on plane all day in any sea condition at 4,300-4,400 RPM's. Would love to have the F300's someday...

Starting Fischer Panda 4200 generator: Is This Normal?

I recommend you have no load on the genset when starting (i.e. turn all lights and AC accessories OFF). Also - prior to shut down - again - turn all AC items off and let the genset run for 3-5 minutes with NO load. This allows the coils in the genset to cool down. This was what the FP guys...

330 express- 2002 Air Conditioning Problem

Thanks Dennis and good point about the "below the waterline" issue. I didn't think about that. I normally keep those 2 sea cocks closed unless the genset or A/C is in use. Cheers, Jack

330 express- 2002 Air Conditioning Problem

Hi there Dennis, I'd like to add a garden hose fitting to my A/C raw water inlet hose like you. I have a 2006 330 Express with the FP Diesel genset. Question: I understand the idea of adding a Tee fitting to accept a garden hose for FW flushing. But why is it necessary to install a second...

330 express- 2002 Air Conditioning Problem

Port side mid ship is the A/C water outlet just above the water line. If you do not see water flowing OUT of this thru hull fitting, either your pump is not working (likely) or you have blockage somewhere) less likely). Has the bottom been painted recently? Did the crew paint over the inlet...

    33 express F300 props

I purchased them from PowerTech. They are the "OFS4" models. No affiliation - below is their web site: http://www.ptprop.com/index.php?option= ... e&Itemid=1 As you may know, a 16 inch pitch is uncommon. Props usually come in odd # pitches. PowerTech had to make them for me. I did...

    Retrofit Chiller Plates Project

No. I decided to pass on this one. The project appeared to be a bit more effort, complexity and cost for me.

    33 express F300 props

Not really applicable to your question but... I have F250's on a 2006 330 Express. Ran the F250's for years with the Yamaha SWS 3 blade 17 pitch props. Because I use my boat in the ocean 100% of the time (pretty big swells here in Northern California), I felt at times I was lugging the engines...

    GW 330 Express Battery Switch

Thank you Bill for sharing this. I will give it a try on my next overnight. Funny but like you - I own a 330 Express + a Scout Center Console (a 20' Sportfish) with a Yamaha 150.

    GW 330 Express Battery Switch

"So to my understanding, the house/accessory batteries are never connected to the starting batteries so if I deplete them (which I wont, or at least try not to) I wont have trouble starting my engines?" In my opinion, yes, you will have trouble starting your engines. My story: On a overnight...

    Replacing horn on 2003 228

Ron's story on the horn is exactly like mine. Try as you might - it's a hopeless cause to replace these horns. I am on my third Grady. All of them have those crap Ongaro (sp.) dual electric horns. All have failed. And frankly, the horn isn't all that loud either. I remember replacing one on...

AIS Capable VHF and Garmin 7610vsx

Why not just get the Garmin AIS black box receiver? It will interface perfectly with your plotter and will be it's own independent unit (not inside your VHF). Also consider if you want to Send as well as Receive AIS signals. If you want an AIS Transponder, now's the time to make that decision...

    2006 282 Sailfish

I had a 22 Seafarer and got the "two foot itis" disease. Upgraded to a 265 Express then the disease hit me again. Upgraded to a 330 Express and I (so far) seem cured (5 + years running). As to cost of maintaining a larger boat - I don't see it any different from my 265 since both boats have...
