I guess I was thinking ice would last longer without water and blood.I plug mine with one noted my fowl hooked...I drill a hole and run mono and make a loop...you plug it to keep the cold water in the box..
Understood, I always bleed my fish first thing.depends on your preference for storing the fish. if you gonna bleed them immediately then I agree ice is best.
when chasing The limit on rockfish I try to keep mine alive, and once I limit I'll start tossing back the smaller fish and replace with bigger. it does mean you have to replenish the water to keep the fish alive.
seems to work for me.
I plug the live well because I often use it for dry storage of lunch bags or beach bags, things of that nature that guests bring on the boat with them and the live well would get water in it, wetting their belongings; ostensibly from being pushed up the drain tube as I keep the seacock closed but whatever the case the rubber plug solved my problem.Wondering why you want to plug it?
I hadn't thought about that. Looks like I will be getting a plug, good idea.I plug the live well because I often use it for dry storage of lunch bags or beach bags, things of that nature that guests bring on the boat with them and the live well would get water in it, wetting their belongings; ostensibly from being pushed up the drain tube as I keep the seacock closed but whatever the case the rubber plug solved my problem.
