Does anyone know where I can get a plug for the kill box on a 305 Express. Also looking for a plug for the cooler seat.

Can you use a rubber type drain plug ?these are what I use on my 228boxes will it work in your express?2F5A7369-A643-4F04-AF92-2C499C900261.jpeg

They come indifferent sizes? What size hole is your drain ?

I use the brass handled bilge plug like Bloodweiser in the kill box as well. Couldn't find anything for the live well and ended up just getting a rubber stopper from the local hardware store, it's not airtight but works well enough for my purposes.

I plug mine with one noted my fowl hooked...I drill a hole and run mono and make a loop...you plug it to keep the cold water in the box..

I guess I was thinking ice would last longer without water and blood.
Thanks

depends on your preference for storing the fish. if you gonna bleed them immediately then I agree ice is best.

when chasing The limit on rockfish I try to keep mine alive, and once I limit I'll start tossing back the smaller fish and replace with bigger. it does mean you have to replenish the water to keep the fish alive.
seems to work for me.

Understood, I always bleed my fish first thing.

Wondering why you want to plug it?
I plug the live well because I often use it for dry storage of lunch bags or beach bags, things of that nature that guests bring on the boat with them and the live well would get water in it, wetting their belongings; ostensibly from being pushed up the drain tube as I keep the seacock closed but whatever the case the rubber plug solved my problem.

I hadn't thought about that. Looks like I will be getting a plug, good idea.

Both under-seat boxes (port-side livewell and starboard-side cooler) on my 2007 282 Sailfish have valves that make them very dry boxes. The valves are (not so easily) accessed through pie plates beneath the box lid.

The photo below was taken from access inside the cabin when I was poking around the holding tank area, getting to know how all the plumbing worked. I was surprised to see these valves.
