No experience with the 300s but my Suzuki 200s are great.
For comparison to Twin300s, I also have a 265. I cruise at 30-33 mph and max at 40 mph. Average NJ canyon trips burn 1.5 mpg, sometimes 1.6.
the 282 is same width but longer/ same weight/ less fuel. 200s would probably be about the same on her. 250s would be great. 300s you will see similar speeds and fuel burn as Twin300s. You'll get better fuel economy at 30-33 cruise. You'll hit 50mph...why?...idk...
lessons learned from switch from Yamaha;
Have them install Aux charging cables now while they are rigging. They probably didn't even ask you if you want them.
If you are using your existing steering, ask them if the motors will come out of water in full tilt. If not, ask if there is a way to do it by changing tie bar or the cylinder position.
Are you doing one or two steering cylinders on the 300s? You probably need two with 300s.
Don't stop testing props until its right. Test them real world out of an inlet on incoming tide not in a flat calm bay with 20 gallons in the tank.
Those motors will swing a huge prop. don't be shy. What you had on the Yamahas is meaningless.
They are probably replacing your dash panel. Lay it out the way YOU want it.
You'll have 2 gauges and a control panel.
I put the control buttons between the gauges. I really like it.
There is only one key.
