is that at a marina? if so, its pretty cool they let you build that there. do you own or rent the slip?

define "let" lol! 1/4 of the boat slips there have something in this same dead zone between the boats and the large poles they lay down so you don't drive your vehicle into the drink. several "decks" like mine and a few people with tables and chairs set up.

I probably took it to the next level so I am anticipating being taken aside and spoken to. In the meantime, I actually got a few minutes yesterday evening to sit at my bar and have a smart cocktail while looking at my boat and many others. At least I'll have a memory to cherish as I toss it all in the dumpster.

Well, as she is in my marina now i started to get her ready for fishing and personalise her for my needs.
First thing was a full reset of the 8412's to eliminate the traces from the previous owner who was still memorised as owner.
Still need to find a way to transfer my waypoints to the new MFD's what is more complicated than i guessed.
Also starting to think how and where to stow all my gear and what i would like to modify and personalise what is somehow exciting. Pressure washed all the covers seller gave me and now i need to discover for what they are.
Im so happy the the electronics installed are the same as i would had have installed, so i just have to figure out where i install my GSD26 and maybe a MSC 10. Well and then the trolling motor, fortunately the seller made already a project by a installer so i just need to talk with the installer about time frame and $$$.

lots of progress:

i finally finished up the fuel tank replacement job. still putting fuel in the tank with 5 gallon jugs so i can have enough to run to my fuel dock of choice. she IS water ready though and i plan to take her out wednesday for the first run of the season!

while the leaning post and livewell were removed for the fuel tank job, i had them re-gelcoated. ill hit them with a polymer sealant tonight or tomorrow. she will be pretty again, just gonna get there 1 step at a time.

i replaced the side gunnel boss speakers with JL M6 6.5 speakers. i have never been so impressed with a set of speakers in my life. dont get me wrong, i have heard better overall systems, but in terms of just a head unit and two 6.5 speakers, i am BLOWN away. i will follow up with an amp and a pair of matching 7.7s.

also got the hull gelcoat restored from the rub strip to the bottom paint. it was pretty bad. it would rub off a little white on your finger. it came out amazing. there is still some raised gelcoat from the original stripe and lettering, but only really noticeable from close up (it has been stored outside for 24 years, and part of that time in FL with little care taken). im considering getting the inside done, but i am really getting to the end of my annual boat budget and i think our new deck (on our house) is going overbudget.

Chris, transferring your waypoints to the new-to-you garmin is easy. You just put all your waypoints on an acceptable SD card in GPX format and insert the card into the Garmin. In Menu select "manage user data". Then depending on the model of your machine you will see "Merge Data" or "replace Data". If your machine is cleaned of the old owners data, click "Merge Data". That will put the data on the SD card into the 8412. If there is waypoints on the 8412 that you don't want on there, click, "Replace Data". That clears the machine of all previous data. and installs your new stuff. That will put a COPY of what's on the SD card on the 8412. The data will remain on the card also. At that point, get out of menu, turn off the 8412 and remove the SD card. When you fire the unit back up, you should see all your waypoints. Additionally, you do not need any satelite signal to do this, so it can be done at home or where-ever. If you get tangled up, you can watch this video.

Thanks so much HH and sorry that i did not mentioned that i solved the problem.
I figured it out to reset the machines so that i got rid of the old owners lock what created one part of the problem.
Second part was that i imported my data from my AC Card and then had all WP's triple, so i reseted again.

I had all of my waypoints also in the Garmin/Navionics Boating App so i could export them and import them in AC,
that did the trick.

One of the dumb things of the Garmin MFD's is that they don't show the name of the SD Cards inserted and that makes it too easy to read or worst, overwrite the wrong card. My SD Cards have a stored name, ActiveCaptain, Maps and the third one is for Updates i download with my Starlink broadband Internet what is much faster then thru G4 with my cellphone. Well, i could download the Updates also with Starlink on my Cellphone and then from the Cellphone to the MFD's, but that takes forever, so i prefer to use the SD Card to update all Garmin devices.
The Garmin MFD show only Slot 1 and Slot 2 for each device and in my case also Slot 3 and 4 of the external SD card reader.
If Garmin would implement that the MFD will show Slot and Name/description of the SD Card would make life a bit easier.

However, transfer worked and i went fishing yesterday and it was awesome, the boat and fishing!

Marlin
So after a few years of resisting I put a cooler/fish box in the cockpit. The 280 Marlin does not have a fish box and if you have live bait in the livewell there is no place to put fish. The starboard base is bolted to the fighting chair mounting plate and the plano box holder was made from left over starboard. Worked well on the maiden voyage, probably should have done it sooner

Planning a trip (trailering from FL to Canada) so going over everything. Saw that under-deck drain hoses looked really bad on port side - the only ones I could see and touch. Looked dangerous.

I could barely get a light on the starboard hoses which looked equally bad.

No way my bad discs were going to enjoy even attempting the port side, so took it to Grady dealer. They were experienced at this. Only thing I got to decide is where they would cut the pie plate for the starboard side. That and I requested double clamps on the underside of the deck drains and the inner-hull sides of the hull side outlets.

I got to see the hoses they pulled out. They were fuel hoses. I don't know why they looked so bad, but they did. Grady used similar fuel hoses on the head plumbing that look okay. Surprisingly, the clamps looked good.

Also did a pressure test on the 16-yr. old fuel tank. It did fine. I do hose it down and drain that compartment as well as I can. Still, I doubt that I will let it reach 20 years.

Ekea: Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.

Parts totaled $361.68. Most all of that was in the replacement fuel hoses they used. The drains, both in-deck and in the hull sides were in good shape. As I'm looking over the bill, it appears they forgot to charge me for the pie plate they had to install for access to the starboard side. Woowoo! Maybe it was a gift.

Labor was $930. I'm pretty sure their rates are now above $150/hr. but I don't believe they've topped $200/hr. - yet.

I've been out a couple of times since and the double clamped areas seem to be holding steady from what I can barely see so I'll say I have some confidence in the work they did.

So total was $1,291.68.

And they waved the launch/haul fee ($300) when I told them how much it bugged me to be charged to bring my boat back to where I've boat three boats.
