What model Grady White do you own?

That sounds great Walt. A good friend has a 263 before mving to a 282 and really enjoyed it. I trailered my first boat (1988 228G) for 2 years but have been in dry stack since 1992. Lakes are fun and don't have much of those irritating waves but the fishing is just not the same.

Post any electronics questions on the Tips/Elect forum here or THT. There are many knowlegable people to help you if need be.

Had my boat 2 months now. The Atlantic was built for fishing and nothing else as far as I'm concerned. Great boat, and the view when you've got a spread of lures is great.

Great Site!!
I’ve an 02 300 Marlin. 225Yam 4’s. "T's Wildest Dream"
We were boat shopping 23'-27' size Grady's and my wife pionted to
the Marlin "That one, I dont want to be boat shopping for
a few years" I think my exact words were "Not in my.....!!"
The name stuck.
South River, Chesapeake Bay, Maryland

Sounds great guys.....and megabytes I'm sure I'll have my share of questions on the electronics.
Parthery I'll definitely let you guys know when we are headed to the lake, currently I'm keeping the boat at Weavers boat storage on browns bridge rd., had the other boat at vann tavern for 15 yrs but needed a larger slot and they are currently full. We normally put in at 2mi. or 6mi. and just go from there.....would love to hook up!

Tbird: good wife
Walt: ask away

RD30s: best darn invention since the cocktail shaker. They are NMEA data repeaters that can display up to 6 user defined pages that contain about any data you can imagine. Depth, temp, speed, battery voltage, hiway to waypoint, time, position, split screens, graphs, you name it.

I keep one almost always showing depth (cruising) or depth/temp (fishing). The other often shows hiway when running to a waypoint. This means I don't have to use the navnet screen for GPS info and instead I can have full screen radar and/or sounder. I have one RD30 set up to read TDs and the other to read L/L so I can scroll thru the 6 display pages and instantly tell someone my current position in either system.

They also have several configurable alarms. I only set a depth alarm which is at 4 ft. The uses are endless. Make sense?

We are at Hammond's... usually launch at 6 mile or Charleston...

See you up there....

T Bird,
You have a Marlin and you're THREATENING to take it offshore? Jeez! What else was a GW built for?

Twotems- gotta get my ducks ina row. Either I get a CDL ad tow the wide load to the Ocean or (primary choice) her highness and I rent a place in VA beach and go by boat.

Megabytes- I think I may have one of these, who makes them…..any chance you’ll be taking another picture of your helm/ electronics setup???

Made by Furuno. At around $300 theyare a great bargain. You have dedicated "gauges" yet you can change what they show on the fly. Very cool. Does this site host pix? If so I will upload a few.

in your response to Mounting Electronics On 300 Marlin
you posted a link..
have you got more images???
mebe post them under electronics?

1992 Explorer 242, repowered June of 05 with a new leftover 04 200 2stroke EFI Yamaha, (Oh, what a deal I got) 2 pump system, can run livewell and washdown at same time, finally!

Great Website, glad I finally found it.

My current Grady is a 1988 Trophy Pro 259G Named "Finest Kind", because it is, and I try to keep it that way :)

This is my second Grady, my first was a 1988 204C overnighter that was also a great boat, but tragically burned down to the hull in a marina fire back in 1991.

Took the insurance money and bought the Finest Kind in July of 1991 in showroom condition and with low hours. She is still in great condition today.

Repowered 1999, replaced original 200 Johnsons with new Evinrude 175 Fichts.
New custom curtains, new Garmin 2010 Chartplotter, original 1988 Sitex Radar and Icom VHF, new Garmin 160 Blue Fishfiner, original Flowscan, and digital depthfinder, and new Stereo.
Replaced transom bulkhead in '99
New fuel tanks and fuel lines 2002
New powerhead on Port engine 2003.(damn OMC quality control was crap before Bomb revamped everything in 2000)
New ECU on Stbd engine 2004.
Replaced port livewell thru hull in spring 2005, will do all remaining original thru hulls next spring.

Future projects: install teak "edging" to bottom of cabin bulkhead to cover-over and reinforce plywood beginning to delaminate.
Rewire entire boat.
Patch and repair spider cracks and chips in gelcoat around access ports on deck (see it on every Grady over 10 yrs old I've ever been on)
Repower again with Etec's when needed.

Perfect boat for me... big enough for a day troll at the Hudson Canyon with a 3 man crew, yet small enough to fish solo inshore whenever time and weather allows.
"I think I'll keep her"

'91 Overnighter with a Grady Drive bracket.

Currently has a '91 175 yami but that wil be changing in the very near future to a '99 225 OX-66 (got a great deal on the engine). 15 Hp Honda kicker, penn down riggers, Lowrance GPS (soon to be replaced...Hope Santa brings me a new Garmin 440 or 540), Humming bird fish/depth finder, Sea-star power steering., lots of other goodies. I've always wanted a Grady and this one was a steal :D . Now all I have to do is get up with some of the guys around the Hampton roads area so I can find some great fishing spots.

Great web site and wish everyone the best over the holidays.

My Grady

1994 Tournament 192, original merc 175, original canvas package
Grerat boat, Kinda like to go up to a 22 Tournament..... John

1- 1995 Escape 209/2006 Merc Opti 200 DTS
2- 2004 Chase 273/Twin 200 Yam HPDI's
Original owner of both boats. The Escape is on a trailer in my backyard.
The Chase is on a lift behind my brothers place in Wrightsville Beach. I
fish all year long. I am on the water 2-4 days a week. If I told you
people what my fuel bill was for this past year you would think Iv'e
lost my mind. I use the 209 for inshore fishing and take her 10 miles
offshore. I use the Chase for stream fishing. I also take her on yearly
trips to New Bern, Moorehead City, Ocean Isle, Myrtle Beach, and
Georgetown S.C. I was going to sell the 209, but my wife won't let me.
Considers the boat to be her 4th child. Am I a lucky man or what?

Merry Christmas and a very prosperous New Year to everyone!

Bill

Merry Xmas to you too Bill.

I look forward to living ther full time so I can fish more often. It is hard to hit the good days when you only come down a few weekends per month.
