Great Website, glad I finally found it.
My current Grady is a 1988 Trophy Pro 259G Named "Finest Kind", because it is, and I try to keep it that way
This is my second Grady, my first was a 1988 204C overnighter that was also a great boat, but tragically burned down to the hull in a marina fire back in 1991.
Took the insurance money and bought the Finest Kind in July of 1991 in showroom condition and with low hours. She is still in great condition today.
Repowered 1999, replaced original 200 Johnsons with new Evinrude 175 Fichts.
New custom curtains, new Garmin 2010 Chartplotter, original 1988 Sitex Radar and Icom VHF, new Garmin 160 Blue Fishfiner, original Flowscan, and digital depthfinder, and new Stereo.
Replaced transom bulkhead in '99
New fuel tanks and fuel lines 2002
New powerhead on Port engine 2003.(damn OMC quality control was crap before Bomb revamped everything in 2000)
New ECU on Stbd engine 2004.
Replaced port livewell thru hull in spring 2005, will do all remaining original thru hulls next spring.
Future projects: install teak "edging" to bottom of cabin bulkhead to cover-over and reinforce plywood beginning to delaminate.
Rewire entire boat.
Patch and repair spider cracks and chips in gelcoat around access ports on deck (see it on every Grady over 10 yrs old I've ever been on)
Repower again with Etec's when needed.
Perfect boat for me... big enough for a day troll at the Hudson Canyon with a 3 man crew, yet small enough to fish solo inshore whenever time and weather allows.
"I think I'll keep her"
