    2007 Fisherman 222 with F250 Yammy

I have an 06 Fisherman 222 with the original Yamaha 250. Have almost 1300 hours on it and it's still running great. It has been a great boat and it's been great for fishing. I kept my batteries in the back but put more batteries in the console since I put a trolling motor on it. I replaced the...

    Canyon 456

I just got a note with a link to the new Canyon 456-wow! I didn't hear if they have this at the Miami boat show but a lot of people were thinking that would be the time info gets released. Looks like a BIG boy with 4 outboards. Here is the link to the model on the Grady site...

    Lewmar Windlass

I have the same 306 Canyon 2013 boat and the same windlass. When I first got it, I struggled with the free fall thing. After many hours of trying it and talking with the Windlass guys, I learned that I can do the free fall with the anchor. You need to use the wrench. When I'm close to where...

    Fuel gauge problem

Finally was able to get the 306 out and after about a half hour of running, hitting some chop, bow up and down the fuel gauge with the new sender unit suddenly started working and works fine now. Thanks for the part Grady White.

    Yamaha F250s 2006

I have a 2006 Yamaha 250 and had a similar problem last year. It would not accelerate beyond about 3300 rpms. The repair guys hooked it up to a computer and took it out and ran it. Turned out it was a bad cam position sensor. They replaced it and it has been fine since. Not sure if that is the...

    Fuel gauge problem

Having a problem with the Yamaha command link fuel gauge reading on my 2013 GW 306 Canyon AUX fuel tank. Filled the tank and it didn't come up on the gauge. The MAIN tank is reading OK. I contacted GW and they sent me a new sending unit for my AUX tank which is 150 gal. I removed the old one...

    radar or satellite receiver?

I have both on my 306 Canyon but I'd go with radar first. When the fog rolls in or when you have to come back in the dark the radar is a lifesaver. I've been in fog so thick that I'd don't know how I could have made it back without the radar. I also use it when fishing in the Gulf and I see...

    Acceleration problem

I took the boat in for service and they hooked up a computer to the F250 and took it out and ran it. The computer showed it was a bad cam position sensor. I understand when these go bad they can limit the acceleration. They replaced the sensor and took it out and ran it again with the...

    Acceleration problem

Yep, it's a 4 stroke. They did change the pre filter and the primer bulb since they were thinking it was fuel related too but that didn't fix it. Taking it back in next week so they can look at it and run it. The problem is, it is intermittent so it's difficult to get the problem to show up or...

    Acceleration problem

I've had an intermittent problem with acceleration on my GW 222 with a 250 HP Yamaha. It runs really great, but once in awhile, when I'm running for a while at at cruise speed around 4000 rpm and I back off and run at a lower RPM (around 1200 RPM's), I can't get it to accelerate beyond 3300...

    Portable jump starter?

I'm thinking about getting a portable jump starter to take on my 306 Grady with twin 300's when fishing off shore. I go out 40+ miles and although I haven't had a problem, I'd feel better having one just in case. They come in many different amp sizes; I've seen 100 all the way to 1200. Not...

    Steering control problem

You might need to bleed the hydraulic fluid in your steering. If you get any air in there it can really affect how responsive your steering is. It is a pain in the butt to bleed the system but the results are great. Also, I have a 22' GW and I run a lot at slow/idle speed while moving through...

    2008 Fisherman 222

I have a 2006 222 with an F250 and love the boat. It's a bit stern heavy but that has never been an issue. Gets on plane real quick, top end in the high 40's and around 3.3 mpg at 4000 rpm/ 30 mph. Bought the boat new in 2006 and I use it to fish a lot in Florida.

    Power Pole or trolling Motor

A 72" would probably work great, bow to water. The downside would be the amount of side overhang would be significantly more when it is stored flat. When I had mine installed it was a fine line we had to not block the anchor locker and to clear the bow rails. Even with a 60" shaft I have some...

    Power Pole or trolling Motor

I have a 60", 24 V, remote control Minnkota bow mounted on my 222 Fisherman. I really like it because it lets me get into the shallows (1.5-2.0 feet)to fish and is great for tarpon fishing here in Florida. The downside is if there is a lot of chop I'll get some cavitation due to the distance...
