Let's hope the slide hammer works, cutting out sounds like problems.

Removing driveshaft bushing (above the waterpump)

A picture up my exhaust - what am I looking at?

Turns out for sure it is the driveshaft bushing (the pictures from my last post), I got the split ring key but cant slide the bearing out. Ordered a blind hammer puller and the bearing/washer. Will report back afterwards.

A picture up my exhaust - what am I looking at?

It appears to be these two parts (if look careful can see part of the metal clip/ends in the pictures). I dont see a rubber oring though in the schematic, and from the picture on another site looks like that isthe rubber "oring". Anyone ever mess with replacing before - really would prefer not...

A picture up my exhaust - what am I looking at?

Had to drop lower unit (first time for me on a yamaha) to replace the waterpump (see my other post - was overheating). Wondering if any maintenance to do while lower unit is off and I wait for parts, took a peak up exhaust and noticed difference from port (looks greasier) the starboard. Should I...

Bolt replacement for trim tab anode (non hex)

Had to drop lower unit and had a hard time getting the trim anode hex bolt out. It was stripping and got lucky by wrapping some electrolic tape and and tapping in with rubber mallet. Anyone know of there is a standard bolt replacement. Found one on amazon but comments say they send a hex...

    Impeller replacement / waterpump service

Can anyone tell me if the pump housing should have a channel all the way around. I can see why the gasket got torn, as even with greasy cant get it to stay put. Assuming I will need a new housing but wanted to confirm first. Another of thing, new impeller has plastic housing where old one was...

    Impeller replacement / waterpump service

I opened up the water pump, and a few issues (hoping this is it and wont need to mess with poppet or thermos). Issue 1 - black jacket that goes on bottom of pump housing was missing about an inch (see pictire). Funny thing, is I changed thermostats last year and found a piece of what I thought...

    Impeller replacement / waterpump service

No water pees unless engine is started, and it takes a 10 15 second to start once i start it up. Same water set up as always and never an issue (I start up in a tub but it doesn't come up high enough so use muffs and prop just under water so muffle some noise). Actually - now that you say it I...

    Impeller replacement / waterpump service

So started the boat today for first time this season, started right up but had a little bit of a high idle around 1400 (usually does then comes back down once warm to around 7) when I heard the dreaded overheat after about 1 or 2minutes.Tell tale took a minute to start working and seemed a...

    Boat Cover for my 208

I dont know of any that would work with a bimini up (also a lot of weight from the cover leaning on your support posts). Hardtop cover seems like the best option.

    Boat Cover for my 208

I have a 1995 adventure and bought this cover from empire covers for a little over 200 bucks shipped. Comes with a good warranty (forget if it was 3 or 5 years) and has held up great so far. I keep a cover on all year for se reason as you and have found of you but some thin PVC, and make a small...

Adventure 208 with a tuna tower!

Would think the marlin with another 10 feet would be fine, the adventure is a small boat so just looked top heavy.
