    New to me 222 Fisherman

I imagine, though I'm not 100% positive, that the scupper flappers on your boat are likely the same as on mine. I just got some the other day and confirmed with the local GW dealer before doing so, that the proper size for my boat is a 1.5" scupper flapper. A quick call to your local GW...

    New to me 222 Fisherman

Welcome aboard. In regards to the scuppers letting in water as well as the bilge pump going off... when I first bought my boat, a 2004 Grady White 228 Seafarer back in October of 2021, it would let water in as well when standing back there. Up on a plane it was no issue, but myself or my uncle...

    What trailer should I buy?

In regards to the dry weight of the boat... per the 1984 brochure, it shows a 255 Sailfish as weighing in at 4,075 lbs. I think you're looking at the 252 Sailfish, which has a dry weight of just over 5,100 lbs. Of which I can't imagine that everything else is going to add another 6k lbs to the...

    What trailer should I buy?

I'd honestly spend the extra money up front and get something new or that's a couple years old from a dealership. Most used trailers, especially around here, tend to be pretty neglected because they only get used a few times a year and they aren't cared for all that well. On top of that, finding...

Question about bow line to mooring anchor hardware

I keep my boat on a mooring buoy generally between early/mid July until roughly late September or early October up at our beach cabin on Whidbey Island. During that time, I'm not always around the boat because of work and the fact that I live in town. A couple of years ago when I first bought...

Replacing 12 Volt Cigarette outlet on 226/228

Agreed. I would, and probably will at some point, replace the cigarette lighter with a USB charger or something similar to charge up your devices and/or as mentioned above, be able to listen to music.

305 Grady White Express, 2007 for sale

I would very much disagree. I flew from Seattle to Deale, Maryland to buy my boat, then rented a U-Haul truck and trailered her back the 3,009 miles to just north of Seattle where I live. You’re right around 1k miles away from this boat and have a multitude of different options if you’re serious...

For Sale: Reduced 2005 Grady White Gulfstream 232

I’ve seen your boat on BT for a little while now as it seems like there’s a fair amount of competition out there. Good luck with the sale. https://www.boattrader.com/boat/2005-grady-white-gulfstream-232-9413027/

    Repower Options: Seafarer 228G

In my opinion, and of course this is just my opinion… if you’ve already got $24k into your boat and are going to potentially be adding another $25k+ for a repower… I think you’d be pretty upside down on it and struggle to break even. As mentioned before, I’d try to fix what you’ve got if...

    Repower Options: Seafarer 228G

How much did you buy your current boat for? I’m a firm believer in not spending considerably more on something than what it’s actually worth. I think any brand new 4 stroke is going to be a minimum of $20k+ after taxes, installation and so forth. Of which, if you’ve already got over $20k into...

    Looking for a 24-28ft Grady, Chase/Release center console model 24, 263 , 273 or 283 from 90s-mid 2000s

Looks like the OP hasn’t been back to the site since February 15th, or almost 5 months ago now. If I were a betting man I’d say he either found a boat or has moved on to something else. Might as well make a post retirednavy and see if you get any interest. I’d say it’s the peak season for...

    New Owner - Checklist anywhere?

I’m not sure what specifically you’re looking for in regards to a checklist but for launching the boat and retrieving it… boat, trailer, hitch, everything hooked up and trailer lights working. In regards to the boat itself, life jackets, other safety things like flares, tool kit, whatever food...

    Repower Options: Seafarer 228G

I think that even if you could go with a 300 hp outboard, that it would be a bit on the overkill side. Here’s a link to another thread below about the performance numbers of a 228 Seafarer with an F300 on it. Top speed is almost 52 mph and the “optimum cruise” numbers aren’t much better than my...

    Shaft size

Against my better judgment and inner 12 year old self dying to say something inappropriate... I'll stick to the topic at hand, if you will. Per the brochure on the Grady White website, a 2000 GW 272 Sailfish has an outboard shaft length of 25"...

    Repower Options: Seafarer 228G

I've heard of a few guys on here calling up Grady White and getting a specific maximum weight limit, which almost seems to be the bigger issue as opposed to the maximum horsepower rating. Back in 1996 sure, the maximum horsepower rating was 280 hp, but there weren't the heavier/higher horsepower...

    New to Me

I'd say welcome aboard, but it appears you've been here longer than I have. Great looking boat that appears to be in better than average condition, congratulations on the purchase.

Cup holder/shelf panel for 232 Gulfstream

I take it back... it looks like he was having a fiberglass guy make a mold for him of his own models and then sold a couple sets. Might be worth a try? https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/check-this-out-grady-white-fiberglass-panels.33587/

Cup holder/shelf panel for 232 Gulfstream

Grady White still makes the 232 Gulfstream, of which the pictures of it still look almost the same as what you have... with the one exception that I can see of the cigarette lighter/phone charger is on the rear side of yours whereas the newer ones are on the front side. I'd call up Grady White...
