    Auto pilot on 232 Gulfstream

I think the last pic is original equipment, the big thing is the pump, the garmin box is the control and/or the shadow drive (I hate shadow drive, do not pay extra for that).

    For Sale -- 2017 GW Marlin 300

I actually priced a Marlin around 2022, was thinking hard about upgrading. It was $365K then with no trailer, no electronics, just the base boat. I'm not sure my opinion matters but this is a screaming good deal. I bought my 228 new (been burned used on my first boat) but this sort of deal...

    Auto pilot on 232 Gulfstream

I had it installed on my 228 and they put the pump in the cabin. In the starboard cubby in the floor.

Electronics Recommendations for GW 235 Freedom

I went with 86xx garmin. I have a friend who is outfitting a much bigger boat and he has seen the Gramin 9000 stuff, it's much faster. If you have the budget, go there. The 9000s are 4k. For radio, I'm standard horizon but my buddy has Garmin, Garmin is better. Less static, just better.

    Trim tabs

I'm in the minority here, but if you run on a sloppy ocean they make a huge difference. I took off the 9x12 tabs that came with the boat and put on 12x18 tabs - huge difference. In most conditions, I can push the tabs down, put it on auto pilot and just run. Before I made that change, I had...

    2000 Gulfstream 232 - twin outboard replacement

I think 150s are not enough for that hull. I have a 228 and it is rated for 300hp. Your boat is a foot longer and 15 inches wider, so heavier. I really don't see how the same HP that they would put on a smaller boat makes sense. And Grady says you'll get better mpg with 200s. If there is no...

New Hardtop on my 1988 Seafarer

I think used ones go for around $5K so I think you did fine. My pilot house was a lot more but I wanted it to last. Just the paint was $11K.

New Hardtop on my 1988 Seafarer

I'm curious what that cost. Total price for everything hard top related.

See if there is a local fishing forum and ask there if you aren't having luck here. Good luck.

    228G Windshield Motor Replacement

I'll be pulling mine out of my 2020 228 because I put on a pilot house and I want the motors that can do the bigger wipers. So mine will be for sale in the next few weeks.

    New flooring for new Grady

Give the deckadence a try, it's like the whole boat has anti-fatigue matting. It's great. It was about $1300 to do my boat vs a quote for $7000 to do seadek and I like the carpet better than seadek, it's easier to clean.

    New flooring for new Grady

Correct, I take it out to wash it, then I wash the boat. It lives outside the boat except when I fish. It's worth mentioning that I'm an older dude and I really like that this stuff is in 2 pieces, it's easy to roll it up and toss it back into the boat. Can't say enough good things about it...

    New flooring for new Grady

https://marineflooring.net/gallery/ The 8th picture is my boat. I love that stuff. Only thing I'd change is get a lighter color, it does get hot. My install is in 2 pieces, the front "T" that is at the helm and a big piece that covers the cockpit. Contrary to what people say, the fish guts...

    Raw water pumps

I use Rule brand pumps and they seem to last just fine.

Replacing thru hulls on 2000 Adventure, Is it worth the trouble? does not look easy to do

Joe is on here, he did those on his 228 recently. I'll nudge him.

    Led spreader lights

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008D3HRIO/ Is what came on my 228. I replaced them recently, the originals stayed with my hard top. It's worth noting that, at least on my year, the spreaders were controlled by a finger sensitive switch on the dome light. I hated that for two reasons: (A)...

    Battery Recommendation and DYI installation

Well, I don't see any harm in putting it on a timer but it seems like overkill to me. I get the solid green when the battery is charged and the NOCO just sits there, waiting for it to go down. As it says in the docs you posted "The charger can be left connected to the battery indefinitely". I...
