Sea Water Wash Down - 2007 Grady 360 Express

As Kirk mentioned, make sure the seacock is open first. Last weekend I had a brain fart while out fishing, flipped the wash down switch on and had nothing. I figured the worst and thought the pump went out, then I remembered I'd forgotten to open the seacock. Crisis averted lol.

What do you do with your rods while trailering?

I honestly just set mine on the cushions inside the cabin and have never had an issue in doing so before. I've got four rods, two downriggers, a tackle bag and a few other small things in there like rear cushions or canvas. I keep the boat pretty "bare bones" as I leave it out on a mooring buoy...

    283 vs 306 canyon

Lol yes I do? I typically go fishing every weekend. I've got my boat on a mooring buoy all throughout the summer in front of my beach cabin, where I row out, unhook the boat from the buoy and start trolling from there. With trolling being about 90% or so of what I do, I don't use up a ton of...

A few newb questions about batteries...

Definitely a good idea in theory, and something that I've very much considered in the past multiple times. The only issue that I can think of would be since I have the boat on a mooring buoy for months at a time during the summer, the seagulls and everything else crap all over the boat and...

A few newb questions about batteries...

Agreed, I use few electronics and rarely ever anchor up other than perhaps once or twice a year to take the boat halibut fishing. Also, I'm typically a bit more of a fair-weather fisherman in that I don't use the boat over the winter hardly at all. Probably 95% of what I do is just fishing...

A few newb questions about batteries...

Thanks for the link on the load tester, I agree that for $20, you can't really go wrong with one and I'll have to get one the next chance I get. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like if it was the outboard that I would've experienced this issue before? This is the second season of running the...

A few newb questions about batteries...

I'm not 100% sure that both batteries have gone bad at the same time, but I figured that if I'm going to replace one and I'm uncertain of the age of the other, that for an extra $80 it's a bit more peace of mind. The jump pack was charged up all the way but the motor went from starting up on...

A few newb questions about batteries...

I agree and I think that I’ll just replace them with the same or similar Group 24’s, which is what I currently have on there. I’ve also heard some mixed things about the AGM style of batteries, and at Costco they’re also more than double the price ($200 each) of the standard ones, which are only...

A few newb questions about batteries...

I haven’t used a battery charger over the last two winters and up until yesterday it hasn’t been a problem. The boat doesn’t have a plug for shore power and I don’t think the boat has any sort of battery charger other than the alternator on the outboard to recharge them.

A few newb questions about batteries...

Thanks for the replies so far... I rarely ever do any sort of fishing other than trolling for salmon, so the outboard is essentially always on and as mentioned, I rarely ever kill the motor to do any drift fishing and/or drift fishing with a ton of electronics on or anything. As mentioned, I...

A few newb questions about batteries...

Thanks for the replies. Here are a couple pictures of the tops of the batteries currently on the boat, I'm assuming the "24" on the first picture of the battery means it's also a Group 24? Also, as mentioned in the first post, the first battery doesn't have a date on it. Costco mentioned that...

A few newb questions about batteries...

I bought my 2004 GW 228 Seafarer in October of 2021, have fished her for two seasons now without so much as a hiccup, but yesterday while I was fishing I got a "low voltage alarm" notification on my Garmin unit. Today, I planned on bringing the boat in off the buoy for the winter and get her all...

    283 vs 306 canyon

I think just about any boat that's under oh 25' or so is going to be at least "somewhat" dependent on the weather and conditions for the day. Even in the relatively protected waters that I fish here in the Puget Sound, last weekend the winds were at 16-17 knots and it just wasn't worth it for me...

    2004 208 Adventure for sale

My only bit of advice about using FB is that I'm not sure if you need to sign in or have a FB account to view the listing/pictures, as I'm assuming some or maybe even most people on here probably don't have a FB account. Either way, good luck with the sale!

    Trolling Motor for 208

I don't have the same boat, nor do I have a kicker motor on my 228 Seafarer. Until someone else responds, here are a few decent threads on the same topic you're considering doing. In regards to picking which kicker motor to go with, I'd personally go with a Suzuki 9.9 because it has EFI option...

    2004 208 Adventure for sale

I know that the forum can severely restrict the sizing of the pictures that you can add... of which a better option might be to leave what you've got on here, post an ad on your local Craigslist and then paste the link onto here. The whole "killing two birds with one stone" technique... either...

Newbie, and a question please 89 Seafarer

A couple of thoughts on the matter... first is that with the boat being a 1989, this is going to be before Grady White switched over to the SeaV2 hull, so your boat will be a SeaV1 instead. Some people care about this, whereas others do not. The SeaV2 hull is what they currently use on the new...
