    2003 270 Islander

I'd check out surveyors on one or both of these websites, and then check out their reviews on Google to see which ones are good. https://www.marinesurvey.org/ https://www.namsglobal.org/

    Transom Failure Incidents

Whether the "wax" was added by the tow company or not, I can't imagine having cracks like that below the waterline wouldn't in some way contribute to the boat taking on water.

Cup Holder Replacement 1995 Tournament 192?

A few things to mention here... the first stainless steel ones that I linked include the mounting pad as well as the gasket. I'm not sure if you'd need to add any sealer or adhesive on top of that or if the rubber gasket/mounting pad sticks directly to the fiberglass on the boat. I'm sure a few...

Cup Holder Replacement 1995 Tournament 192?

$3.35 a piece, times 6 cupholders puts the grand total at a whopping $20.10 before tax and shipping. I can't imagine that would break the bank and I'm going to stop before my head explodes even more than it already has. Good luck...

Cup Holder Replacement 1995 Tournament 192?

I agree... and while I'm not necessarily opposed to spending the $120, there are certainly other options out there as mentioned above for the more frugal minded boater, which I've been known to be at time. But good lord almighty... 4 SS cupholders for $24? Just buy the damn things already lol

Cup Holder Replacement 1995 Tournament 192?

I guess I didn't realize you were wanting to replace all 6 cupholders but alas... how much are you wanting to spend and have you done a Google search on this before? Amazon literally has hundreds of options out there for what you could go with, anything from 6 plastic cupholders for $16 on up to...

Cup Holder Replacement 1995 Tournament 192?

Or if you wanted the OEM plastic ones, you can also get them on Amazon. Personally, I like the look of the stainless steel ones better, and they're the same price essentially... https://www.amazon.com/Grady-White-HDPE-CUPHOLDER-TAN/dp/B07ZBH3RRJ

Cup Holder Replacement 1995 Tournament 192?

Do you have a West Marine store near you? If not, you could always have them shipped. Same 3 7/8" cutout as well. Or they've got them on Amazon and other websites as well...

    Advice - Leaning towards a Tournament/Freedom 225

Here's a 2008 that has a hardtop on it, which is what I'd be looking for since I get sunburned quite easily :D https://www.boattrader.com/boat/2008-grady-white-225-tournament-9034867/

    Transom Failure Incidents

If you watch the above linked video of the incident, the last 20 seconds or so of the video shows extensive damage and cracks to the transom that someone did some half assed "repairs" to the boat. If you look at the 04:52 mark in the video and pause it, you'll see a massive crack on the port...

    2005 Grady White 208 Adventure for sale - $26.5k

Not mine, just passing it along to those that might be interested. Looks like a pretty clean boat that's been well taken care of and for a better than fair price imo, especially since you don't see many 208 Adventure's out there with the hardtop option. Happy hunting...

    300 Marlin Transom

I imagine the owner of the boat very much likely realized there were issues with it and was getting excited to sell the boat so they could pass it on to someone else. I hate to sound so negative but unless the owner is completely naive, incompetent or isn't honest... issues on a boat should be...

    Advice - Leaning towards a Tournament/Freedom 225

Also, you could go with an older 205 Freedom/Tournament, which has the seating configuration similar to my 228 Seafarer where it has the two seats in the rear. That way you'll be able to seat 5 people in the cockpit/helm area and hopefully 2-3 up front in the bow. Although, potentially 8 larger...

A few newb questions about batteries...

I made a quick phone call to the Grady White dealership I purchased the boat from, explained what was going on and they recommended going with new batteries of the exact same size and Group as to what is currently on the boat. I ended up getting two Group 24 starting batteries from Interstate...

    Just Sayin......

I was a little bit frustrated yesterday replacing the batteries on my 228 Seafarer to where you have to pull the batteries out sideways left to right as opposed to going front to back, and you have to pull out the outermost battery first in order to get the inside battery out. I work as a...

    2006 226 Grady White Seafarer

As Seafarer228G mentioned, it should be an optional feature on the boat, I believe it's going to be behind the passenger seat in the lift up compartment right adjacent to the fish box. It's a bit on the smaller side though, especially when compared to the 228 Seafarer which actually has a true...

    Advice - Leaning towards a Tournament/Freedom 225

If you're wanting to go with a dual console style of Grady White then I'd also maybe consider the 235 Freedom? It's going to be a slightly bigger boat with a wider beam than the 225 Freedom, 8'6" vs 8' and should give for a better ride quality as well as a little more space for people onboard...

    Transom Failure Incidents

$37k sounds to me like one of those insane quotes to where the company simply just doesn't want to do the work, but they've factored in a profit of at least 3x what it would normally cost to do. So, if the owner was desperate or didn't know the difference and did decide to go with that company...

    Repower 330

The only difference I can see between the two years is a slight increase in weight of 500 lbs, which I heard GW did that around this time to the stern of their boats to accommodate for larger, heavier 4 stroke motors. I'm kind of surprised a shop would turn away business essentially and actually...
