Not sure if you'll even see this or not based off your last comment, but I'd honestly recommend looking at other options like the Pursuit as well, considering the Key West 239 DC only weighs 2,800 lbs dry. On the other hand, the Pursuit 235 DC has a dry weight of almost double that at 5,350 lbs...

How do they compare to the old Yamaha motors, especially with regards to the Electronic Throttle vs the older mechanical throttle linkage?

I'd make sure you pop the cowling off the outboard and inspect all the fluids that you can underneath such as the oil, etc. You could even do a compression check as well as a leak down test if you have the knowledge and tools to do so. I'd also pop all the hatches, look at all the hoses...

What style of batteries do you have in the boat? I know that when I was looking at purchasing batteries a week ago or so, several different manufacturers and even my local GW dealer recommended against going with AGM style of batteries. They said that if you drain the batteries down too far...

I was thinking about doing that but just decided to leave everything the way that it currently is. Maybe over the wintertime I'll separate them out, but after working a 24 hour shift and installing the batteries while on a mooring buoy, I didn't want to make any changes during that time.
