    Battery switch issue

One other thing to add to Skunkboats comments, the number one battery bank does not necessarily have to be on the starboard side. Battery banks one and two can be either side but normally the number 1 bank is placed to starboard and number 2 bank to port. There is enough cable to make the number...

    Battery switch issue

For a stock set up, think of the switches as each serving a different bus. The starboard switch typically serves the house bus which powers all items in the boat such as lights and electronics. The port switch typically serves only the port engine only and maybe the generator or other major...

    Battery switch issue

It is more likely that one of your switches, probably the starboard one, feeds the house bus. That switch may be the bad one and may not turn off. Check voltage on the house side of that switch when it is in the off position that should tell you if the switch is bad. If that does not show...

    2016 Yamaha 250 timing belt

My 2007 F250s had 1100+ hours at 15 years and I inspected them visually for cracking or fraying every year. They still looked good when I sold the motors. That was 15 years in the Florida heat. The new owner didn’t change them, but I would have had I kept them.

    Fuel Gauge Always Reads Full

There is one other thing that hasn’t been mentioned here but it’s not likely to be the cause of your problem. The square Yamaha gauges have to be programmed for the type of sender. European versus USA. The resistance of the different sender protocols varies. If your Yamaha gauges are not...

    330 Express - New Transducer

With regard to angles, I purchased my boat 12 years ago with preinstalled electronics, dual 5212s and GSD 22 sonar. The transducer is a 12 degree, which, according to Airmar will accommodate up to 15°. The 20° transducer will accommodate 16 to 24 I believe. Seeing where you have your current...

    330 Express - New Transducer

My 2007 330 does not have a transducer flat. Those 5212s do not have built-in sonar. You must have another box which is a sonar hub probably a GSD 22 or 24 for driving the transducer. Whether it is chirp or not depends on your sonar hub not your 5212s. Before you buy another transducer look into...

    330 Express - New Transducer

Airmar makes Garmin transducers. I believe mine is 12 degrees, but it depends on where in the hole your transducer is located. If your previous transducer is visible it will tell you on the top how many degrees it is. Airmar has a cross reference chart that shows you the different part numbers...

    Trim Tabs

There is a way to bypass that auto retract feature. I did it on my 330 for the same reasons you mentioned. I don’t remember the details but there is a timer that runs when you turn off the ignition if you disable that timer the auto retract function does not auto retract. The timer is actuated...

How are the fuel gauges wired??

The fuel tank sender is connected directly to the CL7, not via the Command Link network. Your Axiom may get fuel usage/quantity data via either NMEA2K or J1939. The CL7 had different settings for different sender types, USA , European, etc. I’d check those before tearing things apart.

How are the fuel gauges wired??

Take a look at the CL7 installation instructions. It will show you you can connect up to six tanks to your device. It also shows wire colors to be connected to the level sensors in the tanks. You can troubleshoot those wires by disconnecting them from the CL7 and using an ohmmeter to test your...

    NEMA 2000 NEMA 0183 2004 GW 33 Express

Switch panel is much easier. Just unscrew it and lay it down hanging on the wires giving you access to the area behind the electronics tub.

    NEMA 2000 NEMA 0183 2004 GW 33 Express

You can feed a wire down into the area behind the switch panel in the cabin and then back up into the electronics tub through holes in the tub. Not an easy way to drill a hole between the two anyway. Not a big deal but you will have to drop the switch panel in the cabin to see what I mean. Once...

2004 GW 33 Express Rocker Switch Panel

Get your replacements from Newwire Marine on line. They provide custom rocker switches in a variety of options and the tool and directions as to how to easily replace the rocker itself. If you pull the panel and the switches look good on the back you probably don’t have to change the switch just...

Switching between Primary and auxiliary fuel tanks

One other factor to consider, in a boat such as the 330 the larger tank is aft. The boat runs more efficiently with a balanced level with less fuel in the rear tank and the same or more fuel in the forward tank. The 330 has 45 gallons of water, generator and 14 gallons of diesel at the transom...

    2021 freedom 215?

Grady-White has performance bulletin data on their website for you to compare. It will give you the stock prop size if you have the stock engine. You should be close to these numbers, but bottom paint can make a significant difference. Click on Performance and then "performance data" to get the...

    Lower unit coating

If you are sanding down to bare aluminum, you will want to use a chromate conversion coating such as Alumaprep or Allodine. Follow the directions for either. I seem to remember that one of those is not suitable for cast aluminum. You can do the research on that. Next I would use a zinc chromate...
