    2004 Marlin Autopilot suggestions

You will only need a single auto pilot pump and several brands of auto pilot course computers will communicate with your MFD. You don’t necessarily need a Simrad auto pilot, there are standard NMEA0183 and NMEA 2K communication links that you can use and will work nicely with your MFD. Highly...

    New 2019 engine on a 2023 GW?

When you say the warning manager has the 2019 data, is that inside the CL7 ? I believe that information is not stored in the engine ECM but in the software associated with your display. If that is the case your display may have been previously used or was not cleared from previous engine. I...

2003 265 Express Raymarine Radar and Fishfinder

I am surprised that transducer is not compatible with a variety of sonar boxes.. We need to know what your MFD model and type is. Most of the newer sonars are integral in the MFD. And they can drive a variety of transducers. You can drive a non-chirp old transducer although it will not be as...

    Steam from new engine...

This is very common depending on the ambient atmosphere. The heated vapor coming out of the exhaust at the top of the engine is extremely high humidity, especially at idle, and when the temperature is lowered as it hits the outside air it condenses and forms fog (steam). I noted that it happened...

    Washdown

Could be as simple as having a lot of air in your system. Mine does that when it hasn’t been used for a while and if you let it continue to pump air it will eventually start running water again. Give it at least a minute of no water coming out before you do anything. Also listen to the pump if...

If you post a picture I am sure someone in this forum will be able to tell you who the manufacturer is.

    New Suzukis

Use the opportunity to look at closely, inspect and reseal if necessary your transom. Replace bang plate with vinyl or fix whatever needs to be done while you have the motors off.

Marine Air Condition, cabin mate 2000

My 2007 is not a cabin mate. However it has a built-in diagnostic test. Before you do anything major check your owners manual and see if yours might have built-in diagnostics as well. Also be aware that the water pump does not always run. Mine only runs intermittently when required in cooler...

    SS Deck Chairs

The stainless are quite a bit heavier but probably less corrosion prone. I was not particularly happy with the West Marine brand chairs. The staples in the upholstery rusted immediately. Had to redo that. I think there are only a few manufacturers but may be labeled differently though. Years ago...

    Garmin Navionics+ on GPSMAP chartplotters.

Remember guys, with the exception of sonar data generated and shared by users through the Active Captain App, the sounding data and detail is not new stuff. I suspect it is computer generated based on hydrographic surveys and sometimes near ancient sounding data and therefore not real. Most...

    Trim Indicator on Yamaha Gauge

I'd check the part # to insure it is the correct part. I use Simyamaha often for Yamaha parts and find Andy very helpful. Let me know for sure. I did get your message. Bill

    Trim Indicator on Yamaha Gauge

Same as the one I have. Mine is a – 11 and the current version is – 12 I believe. If you need one I can ship this one to you for $75 plus shipping. It does have some value as a back up for me. My F 300s are new but, you never know! You will see what I mean about the long Phillips screwdriver...

    Trim Indicator on Yamaha Gauge

I have one like this in a drawer for back up. I must’ve ordered it for my old 2007 F250s. I now have new F300s. .

    Trim Indicator on Yamaha Gauge

When adjusting mine (stbd) I used a very long phillips screwdriver to loosen and tighten the adjustment screw. Check out Page 12 of the manual for the round command link gauge for calibrating the trim indication via the gauge: 02 (setting trim angle) You can set the trim angle to zero. Fully...

330 Express AC/DC Panel Access - Sonar Module?

I did have to add trim panels as I remember one of the dimensions of the 1243 was less than the 5212. I had them made by Newwire Marine. They have all the dimensions and provide trim panels for most MFD’s. This picture is not great but I can give you an idea. I added the GT 56 transducer...

    Trim Indicator on Yamaha Gauge

I believe those gauges can be calibrated as well. I know my square gauges have a programming mode that allows you to calibrate the trim sensors. I simply trimmed my motors all the way in and set zero and they’ve been working fine ever since. You might check that if the gauge is not broken. That...

    Trim Indicator on Yamaha Gauge

Lube it with silicone spray and actuate it numerous times with your finger. Be careful to lock the motor up while your hands are under the motor. It is a typical failure point. It should be lubed at least every 100 hours. If one has failed the other will be not far behind.

330 Express AC/DC Panel Access - Sonar Module?

That is where mine was on my 2007 330. No trick to the AC DC switch panel. I lay a towel over the bottom edge and let the panel hang by the wires when I’m working behind the panel. Of course secure all the power to it both AC and DC prior to opening it up. Do not over tighten the screws when...

    VHF Radio Recommendations

Assuming you are talking about a fixed mount VHF. All of the major brands of VHF radios are solid. They all put out 25 W on the high power setting. The antenna is more important than the radio itself. The difference in price is essentially bells and whistles. Do you expect to connect it to a...
