    I Need a Valve Job

Do what "The Other Doc" says, follow orders and you'll be back at it soon. You might want to schedule trips offshore when the seas drop below 2 ft so you won't get slammed around post-procedure. They have all kinds of replacement parts on the shelves in the hospital supply rooms nowadays...

Awww..thanks Lucky: Appreciate that! I may get out there one day when the World flips right-side up again. In the meantime keep enjoying the boat!

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

Crazyfish: I don't fish at all. I just chimed in because I got curious about why everyone has all these rods aboard. Besides, once it turns into September on the Great Lakes, I'm done. I hate the cold.

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

Luck: As mentioned before, I am proud to be your Internet friend. It has been a real source of joy to me to accompany you, (virtually, anyway) on your forward journey with your Grady. Keep this in mind: the fact that you've cut your teeth on the open ocean and learned stuff under fire a lot of...

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

The storage thing ROBERTH speaks of makes me smile. My 2018 Marlin, (which I ordered new) has four rodholders in the hardtop assembly. Two on each side, none over the top section. There is bolted-on storage for two in the V-Berth on the port side and there were holders for two attached to the...

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

ROBERTH: Ah-Ha! So different rods for different fish; different bait presentation for fish close in; I actually see it now. I know it's hard to believe I've never asked before but I really haven't. I just see all these rods everywhere and wonder... I was kind of putting this our in a joking...

    Favorite Trailering Destination:

Now that you mention Santee, yes I recall several stories on that run. I was scratching my head for a minute, as I follow you regularly. I always enjoy the trips, pics and recounts. I remember now you posting a pic of a large catfish at the dock with a friend of yours. I also recall Lake Santee...

    Favorite Trailering Destination:

Know it well;' Vacationed and worked at Portage Point Inn as a teenager. Ran my boat from Onekama to Charlevoix and would anchor in the protected East sie of South Manitou. I don't fish, but I hear the fishing's good for salmon.

    Favorite Trailering Destination:

BMullet: I know all those areas well. I lived on Ch Harbor for 9 years. Great boating in that area except during mid-to-late summer when the freshwater runoff turns the near shore waters brown-ish. As you probably know, it's worse from Sanibel into San Carlos Bay with the Caloosahatchee outflow...

    Favorite Trailering Destination:

Interesting: Rarely do I read anything on S Carolina from you, unless, I've just missed it. I remember the Erie reports & pica along with the Fla stories, of course. Thanks for the kickback.

    Favorite Trailering Destination:

So.... This is aimed at KY Grady, Smoky, Leecoil, and any other members here who primarily trailer their Gradys. What is your fav place? Lake? Ocean? The place you always go back to or want to return to? In my trailering days, it was Lake Cumberland, before I went exclusively to SW Fla Gulf...

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

Off-topic, but kinda not... As some of you may know, I don't fish, so really don't know the answer. Why do you guys take 200 rods with you to fish? it looks like you've cleaned out Bass Pro Shops or something. I can see a backup rig or two in case of failure, but many of you have way more...

    Long Term Refrigerator Use

Redundancy here, but I have a DC/only fridge on my 2018 Marlin. I have run it (the fridge) on long trips, Pt Charlotte FL to the Keys... 180-odd miles and the batteries were never compromised. I have F350's. Dockside with access to 30-amp shorepower, I run the battery charger all the time. It...

Trimtabs - Magic Bill will be happy

Hey Lucky; Good for you! Glad to see your utilizing the “tools of the trade.” KY Grady has it right...the more helm time, the better overall understanding you’ll have of your vessel. Trouble is, I can’t razz you regarding tab usage anymore. Seriously, I’m glad you’re enjoying the boat. RE...

    Sailfish 282 Repower to Single?

THIS! I can spin my Marlin on a dime, as Italian Angler says, if it's not blowing hard. My guess, since I'm not there, is that Bretts02 is not giving the engine in reverse enough throttle to more easily facilitate the spin maneuver. Rev it up to 2k or so, maybe 2500 and feather the fwd engine...

    West Coast Drought

Looks like it's down roughly 4 feet from the waterline on the seawall. Can't pick out the concrete for the ramp itself. is it where the paddleboard is lying?

Cost for thorough cleaning and ceramic coating interior/exterior 1988 22' Seafarer Cuddy Cabin

I have had my hull ceramic coated since I bought it in 2018. It does not repel bottom growth, it just makes it easier to clean off. As far as topsides, I will not do it. My Detailer tells me it makes it difficult to repair the gelcoat once it has ceramic applied. It may last longer than...

Off the Great Loop. Boat pulled, see the full damage - Yikes. How to post iPhone MOV files?

This is great; Glad to see you continuing the Trip. When I said Portage Lake, West Shore, L. Michigan, technically it's on the East shore. It's South of Traverse on the Michigan side. I'll be staying aboard my Marlin in the marina. If you want to say "hi" for an afternoon or stay over, I'll get...
