    330 Express Generator

I second wspitler. What he says is correct. A generator should have almost as many accumulated hours on it as the outboard engines. The more you run it, the more reliable it is. I also really dig mine. I fire it up, and it powers everything, though obviously not all at once. Use proper load...

    232 vs 228?

Luck; I have had both boats as you know from our previous discussions.' I know what you're after and the 232 will not do it. It rides better than the Seafarer because of weight, beam and mass, but it will NOT take you home as fast as you want to go. Anything over 2 footers and that 232 will...

    gulfstream 232

Rlloyd: As Mustang and I were talking about, my 10,100 lb weight of my 232 is uncommon. Do not factor in my numbers when discussing a "Normal Load" scenario. The boat belongs to my son nowadays. (I currently have a Marlin 300.) We set up the trailer to tow long distances and that we do. It goes...

    Hatteras Inlet

Just general info since I have no personal experience with Hatteras Inlet. 1.) Pay VERY close attention to tide cycles and onshore swell. Make certain you do not run the inlet during an outgoing tide with incoming seas. The waves-against-current scenario will steepen them substantially and...

    WTB GradyWhite 290 Cheasapeake-

Pat is correct. A bow thruster is designed to assist you in difficult wind/ current docking scenarios. It is not meant to be a crutch for bad piloting. What if it trips a breaker and stops working? You still have to dock the boat. All it takes is practice helm time. A note on the 350’s. I...

    Finally!!

Congrats Sir; Glad it’s performing well. I don’t have to ask why you had the full enclosure up on your test run....

    2006 grady white journey 258

Artchie; I've had experience with both. I've owned a 232 Gulfstream and fished out of SW Fla on a friends 258 Journey with twin 150's. 1.) RIDE: The 258 will ride a little better than the 232 due to it's narrower beam. The 232 will "slap" some in a head or quartering sea due to it's being a...

    gulfstream 232

Stang: You may be correct. I had not interpreted Belting1313's post that way-therefore the 9500 may indeed include the trailer weight. Hopefully he's following this and will chime in. Any way you slice it, the 232 Gulfstream is a "Big" 23 footer to jerk around.

    gulfstream 232

Belting 1313's Gulfstream weighs 9500 with 150's without his trailer. Add the weight of say, your Seafarer's trailer at 975,(his is likely heavier) and your over 10,000 lbs. Yes, mine is unusually heavy because of my trailer and my loading habits, but 10,000 lbs is not unheard of for a loaded...

    gulfstream 232

RE: Boat Weight: Remember, I have the F200 V6's which will weigh more than the newer 200 I-4's which I think are offered on Gulfstreams nowadays. Our 232 is a 2007. I just looked and the fuel capacity is 150 gallons. I did not have the aux tank. RE: Trailer Weight. The trailer is steel. I...

    gulfstream 232

Stang; The 10,100lbs is an actual Cat Scale Weight at a Pilot Truck Stop. I always travel with the boat fully fueled, livewell full of ice and Mt Dews, and all the ancillary gear associated with boating. (Secondary Anchor, tool boxes, etc.) My 232 had twin V6 200's and the trailer was 1950 lbs...

    gulfstream 232

I towed a 232 Gulfstream for 10 years. it weighed 10,100 fully loaded & fueled. Your Tundra will pull it OK, but the truck (and you) will know it's there. If you plan on towing significant distances and over hilly terrain. like Pescadote says, I would consider a heavier-duty tow vehicle. 4WD...

    Towing 30'+ & CDL, Non-Commerce

When I tow my marlin with my Dodge Cummins Dually, I'm 24K truck, boat & trailer. When I lived in Fla, my license said 26K/max. A Deputy told me anything over that, a CDL is needed, whether you tow for hire or recreationally. I don't know, it may vary from state-to-state.

    307 Owner Feedback

Twin-Engine Outboard handling: If you have Helm Time with a 37 Twin Inboard Rig, you already understand the principles of close quarter twin-engine handling, therefore I will not expound on it. Conversely, I have never docked or operated a Sportfish inboard rig, so I am in the same "boat" as...

    Im Official!

As sturgstev said; Enjoy. I personally love the lines on the Chase CC's. Yours has twin 250's from the pics; and Continental builds a solid trailer-I know one of the guys in the Front Office. SE PA? Lake Erie use, or will you tow to the Coast? In either case, hope next season rocks for you.

Fishable, Trailer-able Family Friendly Grady options

One last thing: Recall, the OP will have to re-install his radar at the boat ramp before his day on the water and remove it at the end of the day before he begins his drive home to stay under 13' 6". Oh, and don't forget the paperwork and phone calls to get permits and keep them up-to-date IF...

Fishable, Trailer-able Family Friendly Grady options

It has an element of sarcasm in it, yes. My point was that when towing something as big as a Marlin, you can't avail yourself of all the options at an exit like you can in your car, or towing a smaller rig. I found it easiest to just stop at Rest Areas along the interstate. Easy in, truck...

Fishable, Trailer-able Family Friendly Grady options

I own and have towed a 300 Marlin. Figures & facts below. 1.) Total weight-boat/tri-axle trailer=14,600lbs. 2.) Height on the trailer with radar dome removed, 13' 2". 3.)To be legal, you need permits (that vary from state-to-state) "Oversize Load" signs and red flags on the front of the truck...
